RE: "due to an inability to partake in intelligent discussion" I didnt reply because unlike you I am not able to spend hour after hour perusing these boards (must have a lot of free periods at school these days do they know your not swatting up for your GCSE's) so I missed your question! To answer it, I dont know, football management or club chairmanship is not my chosen profession. I leave that up to them that are BUT If I make a cockup in my profession there are plenty that criticise without having the knowledge or experience to tell me what I could have done differently, because I do not have a solution to the problem does not mean that I can not disagree with decisions that are made that are to the detriment of BFC. In my opinion Ritchie is not a good manager and I will continue to voice my opinion regardless of the fact that i do not have a list of managers ready to step in!
I like the one about GCSEs mate - sharp... Seeing as I left school fifteen years ago it doesn't exactly apply though! If you weren't such a patronising ****** I might feel more inclined to listen to what you had to say... Ritchie is the best manager we've had for five or six years - fact. He took over from a list of appaling managers who runined this club, signed crap who hardly ever kicked a ball but drew obscene wages every week. Managers whose style of football was dull, unimaginative and totally negative. Ritchie is learning his trade and has made some mistakes - he's shown some acumen in the transfer market and has resisted bringing in players just for the sake of it. The club's trying to stay on an even keel financially and, as a result, the resources available to AR are limited. The fact that you cannot name a decent replacement, with all due respect, sort of highlights the one major flaw in your plan - there isn't one available. I'm sick and tired of revolving door management, poor signings who don't fit into the consequent manager's plans, and a total lack of team-spirit and comradeship. Ritchie is working to a longer-term plan - if we do get relegated it is not the end of the world - if it weren't for Ritchie we wouldn't be here in the first place. Finally - I have faith in AR and the rest of the team not because I'm part of the "mindless, head in the sand brigade" (for someone who grumbles about ad hominem attacks you know how to dish 'em out when it suits you) but because the football and players I've seen in the past eighteen months convinces me that Ritchie and the players are far superior to those we've had recently and those we could hope to get were we to get shut...
RE: The latter, unfortuneately... If you're going to have a pop at someones spelling, you might want to look up 'unfortuneately' first, unfortunately you didn't.
RE: I like the one about GCSEs mate - sharp... You call me a patronising ******, refer to my posts as literary masturbation and then have the gall to accuse me of Argumentum ad hominem!
spot on buddy could not agree more with your reply to this ******. who the hell does he think he is anyway? and when will he have an opinion. constantly hiding behind the 'majority' or talking about the 'minority that support Ritchie'. the facts are these: barnsley were promoted last year - probably against the odds and a little early. if barnsley stay in the Championship that would be a great result. barnsley are playing good football and are not being outplayed (norwich excepted) we have pretty much held our own with the same team that got promoted. there is a great spirit in this team that is carrying us forward. nice that you don't correct this tossers spelling. i would be tempted given that he such an opinionated, up himself individual.
The bit about being a "patronising t*sser" refers to your remarks about GCSEs... You have your response fella, your "intelligent discussion", respond to it...
Naff off thee... If I wanted your opinion I would've asked for it... I try my best but sometimes if these words have more than one syllable I struggle a bit...
>scraped wins against crap teams - we were not good last season and could not hope to >continue with the luck this season against far superior opposition. Ritchie has now been >found out as having little idea as a Manager So, what you now want are for us to stop playing good football and scrape some lucky wins - but we did that last season and you are berating Ritchie for that sort of behaviour - make your mind up.
£20 to you and I'm cutting my own throat at that, my kids will go hungry if I keep giving my customers those sorts of prices.
You never been in the bogs on Wombwell High Street? Outside the Horseshoe? Can get that sorta thing much cheaper - sorry!
