Sorry state of affairs if Rowing is making that decision, what the f**k has it got to do with him when Flitcroft's the Manager??
Good signing for me. I don't see him playing the Mellis role, see him playing alongside Perkins being a bit more conservative, spraying a few passes around and getting forward when there's a chance.
But they aren't the only club he's done nothing at since leaving us. Add Blunts, Reading and Millwall to the list too.
many millwall fans were happy enough with him .. heard afew blunts who would take him back too... never got a chance at reading ... and at portmouth he was expected to carry the rest id take a punt thats all im saying if we get a 75% howard of old even he will be a great help...
Sometimes players and clubs just fit Dreamy, if they did well at every club they played for they wouldn`t be linked with us thats for sure.
Howard and Dawson are a good comparison Most of Dawson's shots go over the bar, as do most of Howard's wages. I'll get my coat, etc...
I think it is worth a modest gamble. £1000 a week until the end of the season, he does have something to prove and will put more effort in than a loan player who doesn't really want to be here. He seriously works on his finess and gets behind Tommy Cywka in the pecking order.
Flitcroft said that he only wants players who want to come to Barnsley and muck in I'd guess Howard fits that criteria.
By him contacting the club shows some determination to do good, and I think he as stated got unfinished business and wants to be here, hindsight tells him he did wrong on leaving.
We could do a lot worse, give him a contract until the end of the season so he'll play out of his skin to either get a new contract with us or someone else, he doesn't seem to be in massive demand so shouldn't cost an awful lot in wages
