Dont you dare say anything against the club or its Coaches cos either Spartacus or JohnnyCoachman will be straight in there to tell you you`re wrong!! By all means have a go at the management team that got us into this league tho`, We were very lucky to go up , you know. ff ff ff ff
Never struck me as a left back! More of a wing back - better going forward, not much pace and struggles to tackle and quite often gets skinned by the oppposition winger, but is decent with a deadball situation - another Barnard perhaps?
RE: You are joking !!right? I'm not saying he is, Barnard was playing at two divisions higher so was a better player, but was therefore also playing against better players. I was merely comparing attributes - both better at going forwards then defending, both good at set pieces, both would get skinned at least once by an opposition winger, both stuggled to be able to time a challenge.
I'm puzzled You think that "He is more of a wing back" but "He doesn't have much pace and struggles to tackle back and gets skinned by the winger." Those attributes sound like someone who is definately NOT a wingback to me!
Sounds to me like he is definitely not a defender at all, or a midfielder. or a striker, so that leaves ???? (dunno) (dunno) (dunno) attributes like that dont leave much. For what its worth I thought he was going to be a good prospect watching him in the reserves and Academy, he has a fantastic shot on him, but he is slow
RE: I'm puzzled Which is why he is alower league player. Is there any part of what I say, besides the position, you don't agree to? In the Championship I think he'd struggle as a left back, like Heckingbottom has due to lack of pac/not a great tackler. I also wouldn't class him as a winger as he'd struggle to get past the full back and to the bye line. Where would you play him at this level, if you had to?
RE: I'm puzzled Well, today I thought he looked good getting forward, thought he had a decent game. Whether he can make it at Championship level I don't know, how old is he? He's still developing as a player.
RE: Slow maybe but what have the coaching team done to develop his impact and dynamic speed? I've seen plyometrics improve 'slow' players in other sports, wonder if it's part of BFC's training programme
Thought the overall quality, with the exception of the goals, of the game today was poor,Yeovil after the semi's were a real let down.It made our final last year with Swansea look a different class. Robbie had a great game today but it says everything about Blackpool that he takes all alot of their free kicks and corners, and he's not good enough to get into a side that just stayed up in the Championship.Good luck to him though wether back with us or at Blackpool
well people have always said there's something in the water at blackpool, but i thought they were on about the bog roll floating in the sea
i went to the playoff final yesterday and he looked quite good, missed a few 50/50's but looked confident on the ball, blackpool are keen to sign him, but i think he could do a job for us
