    I didn't mind Robins as a bloke, and whilst his football in the main was dire to watch, he did well to keep us away from relegation during his tenure. But, he didn't seem to be able to build a squad. It was like a revolving door policy and it ****** me off tbh.
    Keith Hill meanwhile, did build a very decent squad, in a very short space of time, only to have the rug pulled by the board and suffered horrid luck with injuries during January. However, he then seemed to lose the plot, and the football was worse than anything I have seen since the last bloke made the short journey over here from Rochdale.
    I would still choose Hill over Robins though, but as someone already suggested, I'd like to have seen Andy Ritchie with a proper budget

    I don't think Hill had the rug pulled from underneath him at all. We can on about Vaz Te until he retires but overall the club did the right thing in selling him. The Drinkwater and Butterfield situations were unavoidable. The board backed him and allowed him to bring in three replacements.

    He made some mistakes replacing them, granted. But it's not easy to replace £3 million worth of talent for not much. Tonge and Cotterill were risks that didn't really pay off. The Vaz Te one did. Let's hope he gets it right next time.

    They could have entered contract negotiations with the latter last summer, and chose not to, and chose, to wait until November (for this years example, see Luke Steele)

    I sort of agree with that, but no one really knew he was going to improve so much. With Steele we have no excuse as we have had a year to work it out.

    I think anybody with half a brain knew the lad was gifted, and given a run in the team would prove so. Fact is, we could have tied him down, and we would now be looking at £3M plus for him. Got to be proactive, take gambles. And by gambles, I don't mean Nouble or Wiseman or Dagnall or........... you get my point
