I tend to agree with Darton Red - Robins is a huge gamble and Curbishley would be far less of a gamble. I hope Robins does really well but would be disappointed if we had the chance to go for Curbishley and didn't even try...

Curbishley was on £1.5M a year at West Ham.

Where the **** would we find that kind of money?

So you did the accounts for West Ham eh - do you know everyones salary then - we could get a 16yr old for £5 an hour, that would save money - Robins will be £6

Curbs WOULD not go to us.

If Curbishley was to manage a club in the championship it'll be a team aiming for the Premiership!

I'm sorry to say this but we are a small Championship club and cannnot afford nor even encourage someone like Curbishley join us, unless we are taken over by a millionaire and offer him £20m in transfer funds and 5m a year.

How do you work out that Curbs is less of gamble? All managerial appointments are a gamble, and Curbs will be on 5x what Robins is, so take that into account and PC might think that Curbs is just too big a gamble. If it doesn't work out, and there is a 50% chance it won't work out (it either does or doesn't), then there is a massive salary to pay. Easy to spend PC's money for him. I am not sure what Curbs is on but i reckon he will be wanting 750k-1m. He will have been earning more than that at West Ham, and at Charlton once they were established in the PL. I bet our budget is nearer 250k, maybe not even that. So our gamble has to be on somebody who fits our budget. I would love Curbs but realistically it just isn't going to happen.

Yes, I wanted Curbs too but there aint a chance in hell he would come to us. U may as well have just asked for Mourinho because it's just as likely.

Who's the man with no credible experience?

I thought it was mark robins that we wanted, the bloke who turned a -17 points start into a promotion push last season without spending any money. The bloke who managed to turn a club in freefall, in admin and without a ground into a top half finishing club prior to that.

FFS, he hasnt even got the job yet and some people are slating him. I bet the people slagging him off are the same people slating Wilson when he first took over from Anderson. I can still hear them now "Come and sit up here Wilson you're fecking ****. **** off you dee dar Barsteward".
If he gets the job lets get behind him and give him full 100% no ties, no ifs no buts support. He deserves it.
