Ronaldo is better for me too. Best player in the world the past couple of years. Scores as well as Messi despite being not as far up the pitch. Scored over half the goals Real Madrid have scored since he's signed. Plays for a country that's much more reliant on him not having an off day. Single handedly got Portugal to a major tournament by showing up Sweden in the play offs. Shown he can do it in three different countries compared to Messi in one. Messi likes his comfort zone of being a one man club. Ronaldo tries his luck in different leagues.

Not that Messi is ***** as i'd still say he's next best player.

Messi has been fortunate to play for so long in such a dominant (at times) Barca side, which has been built and re-built around him. Just look at how he's struggled at times to have the same impact at international level. I think Ronaldo is clearly the better player, even though he is a n*bhead.

I'd suggest Ronaldo's contribution to and impact on the Portuguese team and their achievements over the past five to ten years has been significantly more telling than Messi's has for Argentina. Certainly Portugal would not have performed the way they have at tournaments (or qualifying for them) without him, and I'm really not sure you can say the same when it comes to Messi.

I'd argue that he's CLEARLY the better player, I think it's one of those instances where it's such a fine line on who is the best, I think for me I choose Messi simply because even tho both are fantastic players but Ronaldo's maunghy face is one that I'd never tire of slapping :)

That's the most persuasive argument I've seen so far.

I would argue Messi is clearly the better player! Ronaldo has had great Madrid sides built around him based on counter attacking football which suits him to a tee same with Man utd before that.
To say that Ronaldo has had more of an impact at international level is laughable if it wasn't for Higuain missing two absolute sitters Messi would have won the World Cup and Copa America in the last two years while Portugal have done what??
Also people saying Ronaldo is more complete? Physically yes, but Messi's better at dribbling, better passer, better creatively, better at controlling a game and as mentioned before a better team player. Ronaldo is just a finisher now (a bloody brilliant one at that) if you watch any of Madrid's games he spends the entire game in and around the box. I'd say he's better at heading and penalties and that's it...

It's like asking which arm you'd rather have severed off, this question.

Both on another level to anything i've ever seen. Just enjoy watching them play, as to have 2 players of that calibre around in the same generation is rare

Two incredible footballers, would probably pick Messi though. Doesn't seem a lovely person.
