Those trying to analyse Wayne Rooney’s words have some job on their hands! one thing is for sure, I’m delighted he’ll be in the dug out and not on the pitch
Funnily enough a friend of mine is an events organiser in Ibiza, she’s also had to arrange private villas for quite a few footballers, she said that Rooney is one of the nicest blokes she’d met (within those circles) where has Gerrard was horrible...her favourite was Peter Crouch.
Part of me wonders whether we should be so direct against them. Not because of anything he said, but because of the game against them earlier in the season. Second half we seemed to just soak up the pressure then scored off a counter attack.
I can echo that. He's a genuinely polite bloke, doesn't try to put on any sort of act. Really, really nervous doing media stuff though. He won't be comfortable doing the press stuff as manager.
I got told by someone that had spent a little bit of time with Crouch and they said he was very moody. I guess it’s all hearsay really and also famous people having good and bad days like us regular folk!
Some of the replies on here need to watch a few of the Sheff U and Wimbledon games in the 90s if you think we're extremely direct.
