Its three matches the same as any other competition; that's why they had to appeal the decision.

Why do they have to back their player if he is clearly wrong? The deference towards the players who are deemed "world class" in the England ranks is sickening and is what prevents us from ever winning anything.

I honestly don't know whether you are serious or are just a parody account.

EDIT: for some reason this didn't quote HT when I intended it to but it is in response to his first post.

SECOND EDIT: HT please clarify who he would replace in the Barcelona side

It stinks and shows what a corrupt and desperate shower the governing bodies especially those of England are.
They have bent over backwards to ensure one of englands 'better' players and more importantly cash cow gets at least one game in the championships.

It just shows up what a mess the English game is as there is on one there to step into his boots.

As for playing in Spain there has been numerous players left the English top flight since the start of the premier league. Only one Englishman is remembered with respect and admiration and still works in an ambassadorial role for them. And its not Beckham.

Correct. Not bad for a free transfer.

    Give over

Get off your high horses about the Premiership and its players - its just another league. A petulant little tap on the ankle did not deserve a 3-match ban in the first place. A precedent had been set when UEFA gave a German midfielder a two-game ban for something similar. Look at Gary cahill's foul at Tottenham, deliberately kicked a player, no intention of going for the ball and was it rescinded to a yellow. I flly expected Rooney's ban to be reduced and I'm sure the rest of the football world did.

Who mentioned man u? On about England and our results and performance are better without him. It's about picking the best TEAM, anyone who knows football knows that. You're definitely a wind up.

I am sure we will, but I will still think he is an over-rated tw@t. Scoring a penalty won't change that opinion.

No idea. Definitely not at work, though. Honest.

Way he's been playing, I doubt anyone will notice if he's been on the field or not. Unless their shins are hurting. That may be a clue.

England win more games without Rooney than with. He's a dangerous, overrated liability.
