I know it's dog eat dog in this or any league but you've got to feel for the Millers. If it had been us we'd have been moaning like crazy. It does seem unfortunate that they have been made to play. That being said theyll probably turn us over !!!
There is always that danger. We seem to be winning these types of games though under Ishmael. Fancy us to nick it.
Don't understand the EFLs harsh stance on this, doesn't appear that Rotherham are trying to take the p!ss, they genuinely appear short on players. Haven't Sunderland postponed 4 and Peterboro 3 due to covid? Anyway, we went out tonite for the anniversary meal, so I can watch the match tomorrow. As this year was a leap year, today is 365 days since we got married so technically counts as the anniversary? She bought that anyway....good sort the missus.
Looks like weather will give Rotherham their wish not to play the game after all. Assuming there is snow in Rotherham.....no guarantee I suppose??
Have they got undersoil heating? at a guess I would say they have, i know many games are postponed ( snow) not due to the pitch but surrounding areas and the increase in traffic causing an increased risk, but with no fans allowed in I can't see any reason why it should be postponed, especially if they do have under soil heating, ( obviously the covid situation but the game is going ahead )
Take me through how you're imagining a club desperate to postpone the game turn on the under soil heating.
No fans, Reds not having far to travel and surely they have undersoil heating. But you wouldn't blame them if they say it isn't on due to snow.
I wonder though if there is any obligation to turn it on if you have it or what the EFL would consider taking reasonable steps to clear the pitch. I imagine/hope they'll do just enough that it's acceptable by EFL but not enough to play
I think the game will go ahead unless the EFL decide to cancel last minute. The pitch will be playable. big chance for another 3 points and close the gap on the play offs.
Surley a new stadium like that has undersoil heating, probley be thawed out by this evening anyway. Not like the paths and roads have to be clear. Weather shouldn't be a problem imo
I’m hoping it’s off for our players and staff safety. When I wasn’t thinking it through properly straight after our win on Saturday I wanted it on for the best chance at 3 points but I hadn’t known any of the details then.
I can’t believe this game is being played. There’s a decent chance of one of our boys getting covid here. Mental. EFL pressuring Rotherham is ridiculous. (That being said I’d love to watch a reds game today so will be paying my tenner if it does happen!)
It's possible for the pipes to freeze for the undersoil heating. It's happened at Oakwell before during the cup run in 98/99 season.
I’m hoping it’s off as well. If the article posted above is accurate and the EFL are telling Rotherham 9 days is enough quarantine they should be facing legal action from the government. I’m all for an easy 3 points but I think Rotherham as suffering from a “likes of” here. Hard to imagine Norwich or Derby being forced to play in similar circumstances It’s also not fair on the rest of their squad who are definitely at risk and it puts us at risk as well. Hoping the weather comes to the rescue but the snow is scheduled to stop by mid morning and temperature is above freezing so really the game should be on for weather reasons
