Maybe being 24 hours away from liquidation had something to do with them pulling out in the first place?

They've rebuilt from the flames and are on the verge of a return to the Prem, maybe a small club with a small budget and a similar philosophy I thought our fans would be more understanding? M

Who from our side would be authorised to give the go-ahead? Would it be PC/BMBC as co-owners and what say would we as a club (Ben/Maurice/Danny?) have in any decision? If we're looking at it from a financial viewpoint, particularly if we go down and need every penny, then I think we have to go for it. Otherwise I'm not convinced it's in our best interests.

And if we let them in should we insist they change their name?

Not sure who has told you that but it's not true, I guess the titans are a bit like barnsley, tight budget etc. Rotherham's titans total budget is maybe £750k and at the last minute the millers invited them to be part of the deal if they put up £10m, they could never commit to that sort of investment. The titans never put Rotherham's stadium in doubt as they were never part of its development. In the end Tony Stewart got the council to lend the milers £10m

We are very similar to you boys, tight budget and community philosophy. I think any games this season we'd play at oakwell would be after the end of your season, and we maybe have a 10% chance of getting promoted so the chance of us regularly playing on your pitch is low.

    There are two issues here.

    1. The play-offs, if Rotherham get there will be held 17/18 May after our season has finished. I don't see any problem why we shouldn't help out the Titans and let them play their game(s) at Oakwell if they get there.

    2. Next season games - Much bigger issue and I feel sorry for the Titans but it's a no from me. We need to look after our pitch for ourselves and if Danny is to remain and we are to play good football we need a good surface.

Rotherham United had the experience of playing at Don Valley and sharing with the eagles and all sorts of concerts etc.

That has probably had a big affect on their decision not to ground share.

Tony Stewart is a complete ass hole. I have had many meetings with him and his company (ASD lighting) comes across the same way as on tv ( *****)

They asked originally to play at Barnsley Rugby Club at Shaw Lane but Sky vetoed it as they said the floodlights there were not good enough for TV. I do believe there is money in it for the club so why not. Every little helps.

They're already called Titans Rugby, they dropped Rotherham to just their shorts this season Apparently.

Good luck to them I say, this area could do with a relatively Successful & regionally named team. I just can't get behind eagles or Leeds....

They are doing well in the English Championship, the league below the big guns in the Premiership. Yet their recent game with Bristol, who look like going up as champions, pulled in only 2,349 spectators.

So, will the arrangement be financially good for BFC? Probably not
Will the Titans enjoy playing in a 23,000 stadium instead of something with more atmosphere? Probably not
Looks like a non-starter to me.

Its a definite no from me just like it was when Wakefield Trinity wanted to use it. I just don't think the two sports are compatible using the same pitch.

The fact is the Titans don't want to move away from Clifton Lane, but the RFU won't let them play in the premier league at that ground, hence looking for a ground the will let them play in

I regularly watch Rugby League and most rugby pitches are in better nick than Oakwell. Oakwell used to be one of the prime surfaces in the country but the last 5 years or so it's been in terrible condition very quickly. Huddersfield, Wigan, QPR and Hull don't have a problem accommodating both disciplines so why not Oakwell? Maybe we need a new groundsman? Watering the pitch when it's been pissing it down all day doesn't quite seem the right thing to do to me.

Just spoke to work colleague whose daughter is best mates with owner's daughter. The Titans owner is very ruthless and he expects any promotion would see him happily change their name to the Tykes or Barnsley something

Doesn't it then become a franchise and something we all claim to hate, just like the MK Dons.
