How times have changed.... "We'll never see you again" sang the Derby fans in 2018..... Be careful what you wish for Derby fans
Just had a nosey on their board seems like they couldn't cope with Rotherham's physicality, especially in midfield. Ironically one poster said Rotherham could have beaten them 3 0 first time round.
Who is our "physicality midfield"? I can't really think who it might be. In any case if we continue with hoofball it doesnt really matter.
He kept shouting "Come on Rotherham" against us. Nothing wrong with that like, but it was annoying with him seemingly been sat so close to the commentary position.
Christ there are some real half full merchants on here. 10 points between us and the team that occupies last relegation spot, I get 10 points is not a lot but it’s not as simple as only Rotherham have to out perform us to catch us, there 10 teams in total that have to out perform us to catch us and drag us in. Yes, it’s possible & yes we want to stay out of it but for people to suggest it’s a must win game.........
Ten points - but they’ve two games in hand. I’m realistically looking at Derby and Birmingham as the current marker, eight points behind on the same number of games. It isn’t that many if we don’t start picking up again soon. I think we’ll be fine, but if we don’t beat Derby there will be a few nerves around on here. We’ve certainly still got work to do.
Yeah I agree there’s still work to do, we are certainly not safe, but as I say there are 10 teams between us too, they can’t all go on a winning run.
Of course there is work to do - half a season still to play but unless we do a Hull we will be fine 5 more wins will be enough as there are 19 games to go its one win every 4 games - It would be good to get back to winning ways and now January is done - which was always going to be a tough month I dont see any reason why we cant start to win again. That said I wont be surprised at a draw - we seem to go for runs of games and are currently on a drawing run. A Draw would be disappointing but hardly a disaster. The talk above of this being a must win game is a bit hyperbolic
Definitely not a must win game, given we thought that Wigan at home was must win last season, then lost the next game as well but still stayed up. February is quite important though. We had an excellent December and a tough January. If we follow that with an ok February, we’ll still be pretty comfortable. A bad February and we make life difficult for ourselves. 4 of the next 6 at home will hopefully help.
It could have been though - Had Charlton won their last game we would have gone down. though arguably Leeds Became the Must win game then. We arent even remotely into must win territory ( at least as far as relegation goes) for the Derby game if we still fantasise about the playoffs maybe its more of a must win game but even then there are 18 more to get another 36 points so its not impossible if we lose against them
