Inisherin is out to 5/2 (11/4 with Hills). If Elite Status is confirmed a NR then the Rule 4 will still leave with you a bet at 85/40 or better. Without ES in the race that looks a tidy bet to me. Inisherin was only beaten just over four lengths in the 2,000 Guineas before dropping to 6 furlongs in devastating style at Haydock. Not surprisingly he was very strong at the finish. I'm also quite keen on Diego Velasquez in the King Edward VII Stakes (5.40 - why? !!!) He has been racing in better class than this and may enjoy the firmer ground, being by Frankel. Aidan's form this week has been there for all to see.
Gotta be Ryan Moore in the first because if that horse can't finish top 5 for money back with Sky Bet it needs selling to Findus.
2:30 Simmering. 3:05 Orne. 3:45 Opera Singer. 4:25 Fairbanks. 5:05 Mrs Morrell. 5:40 Voyage (first past the post in the derby ). 6:15 Airman.
I think Fairbanks has a squeak as well. Am looking at number of places available on Betfair. Looks a tad underrated to me and price looks too big
Cheers. It's just a snap shot of what I've backed done a few 20p e/w lucky 15's. Hopefully drop a big one.
Hiya all hope yer all winning, as you all know i'm in Brid got two mates with Horses in Tim Easterby's yard, big shouts for Art Power,
Top-rated on Timeform and Racing Post Ratings. And three runs this year looks as though he has been leading up to this race. It's very surprising he's on offer at 16/1, given all he's achieved in his career. The problem may be the going. He has never won with the word "firm" in the description, and mostly has been a stone below his best on the faster ground. So overall, he's respected, Winker. But in my view good chances can also be given to Mill Stream, Believing, Khaadem, Mitbaahy and Shartash. So (yet another) no bet race for me. I hadn't realised just how well-bred Bedtime Story is (2.30). But I'm always loth to take on top class colts with fillies so early in their careers. I'd have been all over Continuous (3.05) but Aidan states: "He's just ready to start back now", which sows doubt as to whether he is going to need this race ahead of bigger Summer targets. (Eclipse, King George and Arc entry). In the Wokingham (5.05) I was on Dark Trooper and Albasheer when Tom Segal put them up ante-post. They have both halved in price now - probably because they are both likely to appreciate the quick ground. They are both drawn high, so hopefully the action will be on that side of the track. I find the remaining three races on the card rather like the love of God!
Just out of interest I did a quick analysis of his excellent race record … Art Power that is. He has a good win ratio although nearly half of them came in his very early career. He has won at Ascot twice ( once at the Royal meeting ) Surprisingly he hasn’t been placed much in first 3 but 4th is his fav position by a decent margin. Just a bit of fun but I reckon he’ll finish 4th. It’s good to hear Winker, that the stable think he’s in good order so an EW bet it is.
Looks like most firms are going four places, even with only thirteen runners, so plenty of each-way appeal if you think he can run close to his best on this ground.
5:05 Ascot Warrior Brave 66/1 Front-runner who stays further, which I think is essential at Ascot. Lacks form in top-class handicaps, and has been unsuccessful in three visits to Royal Ascot (5f, 6f, 7f). Didn’t see out the distance in the Buckingham Palace last year, and drops back in trip to the Wokingham, where he finished in mid-division in 2022 off 6lbs higher. He was very keen that day, and was taken to the back of the field, which isn’t his preferred running style. Hopefully DB McGonagle just let’s him go today. Had a decent prep race when an unlucky 3rd on seasonal reappearance, and trainer comes here in good form. Well worth an ew at huge odds. I’m also backing Mum’s Tipple at 20/1
It’d be nice to get a bit of wet stuff this morning although it’s not likely to be enough to change the going anyway.
2:30 Expensive Rose. 3:05 Middle Earth. 3:45 Mitbaahy. 4:25 Never So Brave. 5:05 Unequal Love. 5:40 Cambridge. 6:15 Queenstown.
Gotta be Bedtime Story in the first with Sky Bet offering money back if your pick finishes 2-5. Moore has done us well this week with this bet.
