And as fans are fickle, it depends when you are looking at their forums . I.e. Owlstalk after the Peterborough drubbing etc. Derrys current form may be down to injuries. What were they saying when things were going well.
They did well last season, started this season well and all their fans would have been thinking they were going to win the league. Since then reality has set in and they're round about their actual level, probably underperforming a bit. There was no way they were going to topple Shamrock Rovers though even though they're a notch below previous seasons themselves. Imagine Duff had stayed and we'd found ourselves about tenth half way through the season. There'd be a fair number of people on here calling for his head at the top of their voices.
Maybe. They've certainly fallen away after a strong start. Qualifying for Europe is huge in the LOI as the cash rewards from winning the odd game in European competitions dwarfs any domestic income. That's why Dundalk and Shamrock have dominated for years. They qualify nearly every season. Anyway, I'm rambling and it sounds like this is just speculation although the interest is reported in some Irish press. I'd be more likely to trust in Gally's take though.
Don’t know if I’m on my own but I do like the sound of this guy from last hr I’ve spent researching him
He does seem to have done a good job with Derry. But some clubs just suit a certain coach and some don’t. Sometimes the stars align and it all comes good and then managers move on and never achieve anything ever again.
You can pack that in! There's no room for comments like that on here. I don't know anything about the guy but he's garbage I tell ya, garbage!!!!
Exactly! Keep facts and research out of all this. We rely on opinions backed with prejudice and hubris around these parts of the internet.
Take it you were not impressed when John Stones got in the side or David Hurst , both extremely young lads in a mans game but if they are good enough they are old enough .
