At the end of this day who gives a fook , what will be will be , pontificate all you want , it's ****** . Our best players go for pnuts and this site ... oh **** it I'm to bed for ... No , for a better future...
Better than pearson who was one dimensional . Unfortunately under Grayson ( wot a repulsive ****) he has changed from a combative midfielder into another michael brown . A thug . I hope josh doesn't go to press nobble execute fc .
Agree, very hard worker & could be played in several positions, making him a very useful player for a club with a small squad. I think he actually had a lot of his best games out wide, as he covered the full back well & had more space to cut inside. Will be remembered fondly by me. Similar to David Speedie in my book.
Josh is a good player at this level but would struggle to get into a side like Fulham and probably Brentford. He's no better than us but can earn a bigger wage elsewhere. We don't pay what players are worth and with what Josh has done for us over the last two and a half years, it's beyond me how we haven't gave him a reasonable Championshp wage.
It will be another George Williams situation where we wasted however much time and money was used to bring in Jones, Elder and Kpekawa when he was more than capable of doing the job. I hope lessons have been learned because the worry is if we don't sign him back up the replacement struggles and so we have to spend even more for another person in that position, when we already have a capable guy at the club.
He's been offered a new contract and he took the choice to see if there are other options. All perfectly normal in football.

Interesting, if you had a first team squad of say 22 players, all the fringe players, club staff , ground staff & utilities , then you would be looking of a weekly bill of £200,000 or a £1 million pounds every 5 weeks. Thats a lot of candy for a club of our size.
It is an I'm not advocating paying it but that's the going rate for a championship player and that was the question you asked. Sent from my iPad using Barnsley FC BBS Fan Forum mobile app
I can't disagree with you there. I guess if we hope to compete in the medium term we would have to look at a core of 4/5 players paid at Championship level and the rest projects. The problem will only hit if we attempt all projects. Sent from my iPad using Barnsley FC BBS Fan Forum mobile app
It is and that is why maximising ALL possible income streams is absolutely essential. Especially for a club such as ours who have a deficit in terms of revenue generated from ticket sales.
If newspapers can be believed there's an Article on "News now" on the Barnsley page today claiming that Villa are interested and are set to offer Josh Scowen nine grand a week.! Bit of a dilemma IMO. Move to a Club get promoted then what.? Footballers love to play. Is Scowen a Premiership player.? A few of the Huddersfield team will be waking up today having to face that same reality. I'd be really surprised if Nahki Wells is prolific in the Premiership - be interesting to see.!!
