Real good work criticising our signings from last year. Seem tom remember us doing alright. If we had signed Sharp, we may not have gone up, nobody can say. BUT we didn't sign him, we got promotion. That'll do for me.
I have no idea what he's on about I didn't criticise any of our signings, I simply think that Sharp would have been the better signing in hindsight than Wright. But come on, what contribution did Tommy make last season? Chuff all. Didn't score, didn't improve the team. Of course promotion was the main thing, but to say had we signed Sharp we may not have gone up is ridiculous.
i'd rather have Tommy Wright, but he's just decided to join Blackpool on loan (31st August 2005 )" Yet billy sharp joined sthorpe on the 16/08 so there is a 2 week gap so surely TW would have joined us in that period? If he was offered BS then it must have been before he moved so it is even longer!!!!! It is easy to say we were offered a player who went for nothing and has turned out to be a success, but i still find your theory very hard to believe!!!
think it is a little harsh TW has come in and not been able to break into the team, he has only started 7 league games which surprised me thought it was more! I remember seeing his debut at chesterfield and he missed a few chances but i did think if he had a run of games he'd come good but he never really got that run!? Yes Sharp is better but think it is harsh that you comapre him to a player who hardly starts!!!
rushden? Thats Rushden...........mid table in the Conference then? Thats the standard of player we're lookin to attract?
RE: i'd rather have Tommy Wright, but he's just decided to join Blackpool on loan (31st August 200 At the end of the day I dont give a flying fack if you care what I type or not. You wouldn't believe the amount of rumours I hear, I just pull out the ones that I believe have substance.
I know its the same debate i've had with the people that told me this in the first place. Now I dont profess to be a top judge of class at all, but He has come on in a hell of a lot of games as sub, he has, like you say, made 7 starts. EVERY one of which he hasn't done one thing that says to me he is going to be an asset to this club. Scored one goal, scuffed it too in all honesty, but I wont hold that against him.
You may not think the theory I gave earlier has any substance, thats your prerogative, but you mention that the dates dont add up. That bit I dont understand. Does it matter when Sharp moved to Scunny? The matter here is that, allegedly, AR was offered him by PC but AR didnt want him, so he pursuid other targets ie Richards and Wright. Wright may have already agreed his loan move to Blackpool by this date anyway.
