Ive just listened to the interview Sounds as tho it was a set up to me. I don't like Russell Brand, never have done, but to think that song up in seconds is pretty clever. However, the prank was completely OTT
Holy over reaction Batman! 2 blokes make a prank call and there's national out cry. As someone already mentioned if anyone should fry for this its the bloke who let it be broadcast.
the person who supplied them with the phone number and who was in charge of the production and allowed them to make the calls. it wasn't just one call afterall and it could have been stopped by the producer after the first at least. and the person who allowed it to go out days later. All three the same person?
The BBC love stories about the BBC Makes them feel full eself importance.
Was the same over the Andrew Gilligan thing. Hours and hours of coverage ... and most people just want the real news

But the papers say it was bad so it must be. People are bandwagon jumping. Probably because they don't like either/or of Brand or Ross. Hardly any complaints during or immediately after the broadcast. I am not surprised Brand has jumped ship. Ross has more to lose though. They have both done offensive comedy before, as have many others. Massive over reaction. The powers that be at the BBC obviously felt it was fit for broadcast, as it wasn't live, so it is a disgrace to let them be the scapegoats because there has been a reaction to it. I have listened to it and it is pretty much what you expect from those two. I am sure Sachs himself is aware of their material as he was meant to be on the show. It is obvious it is a joke the way they say it all. I heard that Sachs hadn't even heard the message. He heard it when the papers played it to him. Some are doubting whether there was a message left at all.
RE: According to a bloke just been on Radio 2 - producers etc overlooked Sachs didn't hear it until after it had gone out. Recorded: 16/10 Broadcast: 20/10 Daily Mail contacts Sachs' agent for comment: 22/10 Sachs' hears show online: 22/10 Sachs' agent complains to BBC: 23/10
RE: he does right to be honest Aye, he can take his two million listeners elsewhere. His Channel 4 show will get great audiences and sales of his next book will be boosted. Georgina Baillie will make a shitload off the tabloids, Andrew Sachs will be on IACGMOOH. Only Jonathon Ross will suffer (with any luck).
The one person to emerge from this with any dignity.... is Andrew Sachs. He has accepted the apologies from Brand and Ross, and said that, as far as he is concerned, that is the end of the matter. Brand has done the right thing and resigned. I doubt if Ross will.
It is interesting to note that without hesitation the BBC sacked Kenny Everett for making a remark on his show, on the lines that a government minister's wife must have slipped the examiner a fiver to pass her driving test. The management then had balls, which regretably it has lacked since.
Ross has had it coming. About 9 months ago on his Saturday morning Radio 2 show he was in the studio with a mate (a guest) & they were laughing and taking the piss about people with a leg deformity, who have to wear a built-up shoe. I was so sick of the pair of 'em I switched stations. I wish someone in the media could get hold of a transcript of this broadcast. I hope the BBC have the guts to give him the bullet.
What about them bits? Plenty of comedians use 'sicker' jokes than that and are employed by the bbc. Maybe we should all just watch Last of the Summer Wine. Thats a nice inoffensive show. Wasnt Sachs in a show which parodied Hitler - 'Oh my word he is the most evil man ever!' - Sachs should have been sacked! Grow up.
Might be a Windass but I cant be bothered reading all the posts. They both think they are funny by joking about sex etc thats all Brand & Ross have done all their careers. Overpaid w@nkers.
Hear, Hear If thats all he can come up with on that amount of tv licence payers money he needs the chop.
The fact that some people think they are **** is not a reason to get rid though This seems to be the main factor for a lot of people, that they don't like them, so kick 'em out. I'm not a massive Jonathan Ross fan myself, and he was clearly being overpaid, but there a lot of people who do like both him and Brand.
