Yeah My post came with a heavy dollop of sarcasm which, as my old mum always said, is the lowest form of wit

Ronnie looked ***** on his debut. The rest is history. Danny Wilson looked poor too TBH. Players need to get to know how their team mates play. On a dreadful pitch at Port Vale I reckon people need to keep their powder dry on this.

I didn't think Russell did anything majorly wrong or right last night partly because he's still getting up to speed and partly because Port Vale's clear tactic was to totally bypass midfield. The one thing I don't want to see from him again is the Cruyff turn that worked well on Saturday on the edge of the opposition box on the edge of our box and losing it as last night! The other thing last night was that to accommodate him both Connell and Kane had to change positions from what they've been playing and things worked much better for them, particularly Kane, when Philips came on and they reverted. Philips offers that goal threat too.

I'm sure Russell will be fine once he's (a) up to full match fitness and (b) has got the full understanding and experience of Duff's system and it's great that we have such a quality option in this area of the field.

Not much different to Russell ,but it seems he's highlighted more than the 2 who came on up front and showed very little, on a poor playing field .
Could be a common denominator in there.

If he'd just stood on the halfway line scratching his @rse he'd still have done 40x more than Brek Shea.
