Ukraine is ready to hold a dialogue with Russia on security guarantees for the future of the occupied territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions and Crimea, but is not ready to capitulate. This was stated by President Volodymyr Zelensky in an interview with ABC News.

"I have spoken many times about NATO and publicly conveyed messages to both Russia and President Putin: we are ready for any guarantees of our country's security from the respective states that must guarantee. And Russia is also among these states, because Russia is our neighbor, "he said.

According to Volodymyr Zelensky, in the future Ukraine should have a collective security agreement with all its neighbors and with the participation of leading countries - the United States, France, Germany and Turkey, with which our country borders through the Black Sea.

"These will be guarantees not only for Ukraine. These will be the guarantees that Russia is constantly talking about. Although I don't know who she's protecting herself from. Because Ukraine has never attacked anyone, but only conducted defensive actions. Because it protects the last thing we have - the family and the land, "the President stressed.

Regarding the demands placed on Ukraine by the Russian authorities, in particular regarding the recognition of the independence of the occupied territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions, the Head of State noted that a compromise is possible on this point.

"It is important to me how people who want to be part of Ukraine will live there. I wonder what those who see themselves as citizens of the Russian Federation think. However, we need to discuss this issue. As well as compromises on the Crimea. We cannot recognize that Crimea is the territory of Russia. I think it will be difficult for Russia to recognize that this is the territory of Ukraine. I think we are smart enough that the decision on these two issues does not cause any revolutions within societies, so that people are satisfied with this decision: both those who live in those territories and those who live in Ukraine, "said Volodymyr Zelensky. and added that before the occupation these territories were part of Ukraine.

But in order to resolve all these issues, Russian President Vladimir Putin needs to start a direct dialogue, the Ukrainian head of state said.

"The people who elected me are not ready to surrender, we are not ready for ultimatums. But we can discuss with Russia about the future of Crimea and Donbass, "the President added.

As for the so-called denazification, which Russia points out among the demands on Ukraine, according to Volodymyr Zelensky, it is aimed at the destruction of the nation.

"It has happened many times in history and it has always ended very badly. But it ended up for some states that they were later ashamed of starting to cleanse the world of one nation or another. And some states were ashamed that they did not embark on this terrible, bloody path and did not defend another nation, "he said.

The President stressed that the proclamation of "denazification" is pure Nazism, it is the destruction of the Ukrainian nation. "It was the same in the 1940s, Nazi Germany was denazifying the Jewish people. The same thing is happening now. I just didn't know it could happen in today's world. That a person who declares denazification can get some support for it. This is a crime against the people. "To say 'denazification' and then bombing civilians is genocide against the Ukrainian people," he said, adding that he was convinced that in the future the world would recognize the destruction of the Ukrainian people. When asked why he refused to leave Ukraine because of the threat to his life, when he was offered it, Volodymyr Zelensky answered: “I refused. Because how can I? I am a citizen of this state, a legitimately elected President. If I left, I would end my life. I would be alive, but I would no longer be human. I would just be a body. I would not respect myself. And worst of all, what would I say to my children. Who am I ? Did I behave like the President? As a guarantor of the Constitution? This is not just a phrase - the guarantor of the Constitution. I am the guarantor of my people. So we have to be together. We need to defend ourselves together. That's why I'm here. I help my country, I support my state as much as I can. And I support and am proud of my military, "Volodymyr Zelenskyi stressed and expressed hope for a" happy ending. "

NATO has ignored the warning signs for years and after years of pretty clear warnings from Putin he’s acted against what he sees as a threat to his country. The job of our government is to provide security for its people first and foremost. An unwinnable conventional war with the potential to escalate to thermonuclear destruction I would suggest is not in our best interest. We are going to need to accept, a guarantee of Ukrainian neutrality and the annexation (installed puppet regime) of the Russian speaking parts to act as a buffer. Otherwise eventually Putin will probably in desperation use a Nuke on the battlefield. Time to get real and save more lives while double down on strengthening the countries we’ve got in NATO right now.

Precisely at this one. He's committing atrocities, murdering innocent children and we think now isn't the time to stop him because he threatens us? Do we stop him when he invades Poland? Germany? France? London? Or do we wait till he's in Rotherham banging on the door of Barnsley?

Don’t know about Rotherham but we did nothing when he killed people on Salisbury .
This has come from weak as piss European politicians of all colours over a number of years .
He’s goaded and goaded and had people as Trump and Others eating out of his hand .
The people of Ukraine are suffering got the dithering and corruptness of western politicians who are now queuing up to condemn whilst at one time feeding from his hand .
Although now is not the time for soul searching and blame but chickens must come home to roost over this at some pint .
Meaningful action must be taken and even now among all the hard talking and rhetoric from our politicians action although being talked about aggressively by Charlatans Reading between the lines is being watered down before the speeches are even finished .

OK Jay... If it's nonsense propaganda made up by conspiracy theorists why then would Victoria Nuland the US Under Secretary of State be confirming the existence of these labs and stating that the US administration is concerned about the "biological research materials falling in to the hands of the Russians"?

Perhaps the Russian propaganda machine was so effective that it successfully
convinced the US that these fictitious biological institutions actually exist?

You have the audacity to call me an idiot when it is clear you haven't got a clue what you are talking about. Perhaps you should have a word with yourself.

Given the depth and breadth of businesses boycotting Russia and closing outlets, as well as all the banks and other economic sanctions affecting their daily lives, whilst the average Russian has been subjected to constant propaganda and State controlled media, surely even the most loyal supporters of Putin must eventually start to suspect they are being fed lies. How long before the 'penny drops' given the clampdown of all international newsfeeds and internet access. Admittedly the older generation, many brought up in the Soviet era are less sceptical than the younger generation but even they, particularly when their sons, or people they know sons don't return from the 'military exercises' and liberation of Ukraine "Special" action.
I note the latest ploy for home media consumption was the Russian army bringing in lorries into occupied cities in Ukraine allegedly loaded with food and medicines for humanitarian relief. These according to locals turned out to be accompanied by film crews and even, allegedly actors posing as 'grateful' citizens thanking the Russians whilst the food and medicines did not actually exist. The real population, apparently, refused to participate in the charade.

You can only fool people for so long. Unfortunately like Lukashenko and his forces in Belarus , there are enough military and police in Russia loyal to Putin (or at least know what will happen to them if Putin falls) to use any level of violence required against the population to maintain the status quo. If filling the prisons or beating protestors does not work, deadly force will be the next step.

    Yeah... Me too.

I'm flattered that you believe that I can fabricate a story that fuels the Russian propaganda machine which in turn leads a senior US politician to nervously verify my made-up story in a US Senate meeting.

I find it funny that even in the face of incontrovertible evidence you still can't admit you are wrong.

Read your post back... You clearly wrote "idiots like this guy are inventing" this nonsense.

Are 'invent' and 'fabricate' not synonyms in this context?

It's easy to see when someone is someone is losing a debate because they have to resort to childish name-calling.

There is no shame in admitting you're wrong by the way. Merde tete has relatives who live in Ukraine and they don't know about the biolabs so it would be quite understandable to believe they couldn't possibly exist.

Im not debating with you either. The biolabs clearly exist so there is no debate to be had.
