I think he's bricking it' his people are wising up to him' it seems the chinese aren't busting a gut to help him and his army are hopeless with Ukraine soldiers stating the Russians are still using 1939 tactics and yesterday Putin was talking about 5th column traitors ' hardly the big tough Russian superpower we thought eh' personally i think if he was given a route out of this whilst still being able to save face he'd take it...I think the Russians need to oust him by whatever means necessary and get a leader thats going to drag them into the 21st century and embrace the world rather than wanting to always be in conflict with it' and while we're at it the yanks need to lose their obsession with Russia aswell ' leave the 1970s where they belong ' in the past and try to build a better more peacefull future...

I think that's brilliant. A wonderful use of his fame, celebrity and influence. (I don't care if he's done bad things in the past, I don't want to hear 'what about', that message was sincere and it will reach some people, it will make them think.)

That's what we've got to do. Give him a way out: Ukraine will not join NATO or the EU for at least 10 years. That'll probably do it. Give him that, let him spin that however he likes, let him claim victory, but let's end this.

Agreed the longer the war goes on the more suffering for the people of Ukraine, despite Russian incompetence eventually they’ll take more of Ukraine then if there’s a negotiated settlement whereby Ukrainian neutrality is guaranteed and some Russian speaking parts are ceded. That’s the harsh reality.

Alexei Navalny, currently serving a few years in jail for the heinous crime of being a political opponent of Putin, has been sentenced to a further 9 years in a maximum security jail under the mystical charges of fraud and contempt of court.

Ukraine Govt would say that wouldn't they? "the Russian ones" very convenient way to shutdown opposition - simply label them as being under the pay of Moscow even if its patently false and 2 minutes on google will confirm that. Tell you what, any political party which opposes Ukraine's rush towards the West but doesn't see any any future in legitimate opposition (one party banned has 40+ seats in the parliament and over 2 million+ votes) might as well go work for the Russians, seems a bit of daft thing to do banning them if you ask me. Unless of course, its more about removing threats to your power. If a not-pro EU/NATO is not an allowable point of view then what does that say about the state of "democracy" in Ukraine?

I'm thinking.... given they are being mercilessly bombed and nobody is helping them out, that they are trying every little thing they can to try and get whatever leverage they can for discussions.

You're right. 2 minutes on Google did show me that they weren't anything to do with Russia. Well I mean unless of course you mean the leader of the biggest banned party naming Vladimir Putin as godfather to his child, having their logo and website in Russian, calling the Ukrainian politicians Nazis just like Putin did, being anti-Semitic just like Putin is and being homophobic just like Putin is.
If anything is say the quick 2 minute search demonstrated everything that Ukraine is saying and none of what you are

So they are slaughtering civilians and you are looking for some kind of equivalence? Weird.

Russian artillery slaughtering and starving civilians, blowing children limb from limb, dogs eating the unburied in the street, countless dead in basements, children being deported….

Yes lets give the non-pro EU/ NATO voices a fair hearing.

Well the party you specifically refer to OPLF denounced the Russian invasion and voted for its members to be supported in joining the Territorial Defense Forces, it was also subject to sanctions by the Russian State itself - so funny way to be in the pockets of Putin if you ask me?
Unfortunately there is widespread homophobia across ALL of Ukrainian society, so if you're condemning them, condemn all. Also there is a significant Nazi/fascist element to the irregular forces, now co-opted fully in the Ukrainian army, which was also supported during the ongoing war in the East of Ukraine by Zelensky, so they are kind of right on that front too.

If they'd been listened to and Ukraine had remained neutral then none of that would have happened, if you are saying that we are to support the removal of all voices other then then the ruling party, then that's fine, you agree with dictatorships on all sides, good for you.

Pretty lame argument, so because people are dying its time to shutdown democracy and just become the same as those they are fighting? Brilliant logic.

    That doesn't make sense.

That fact that you are saying they should have remained neutral, you are automatically saying they shouldn't join the EU or NATO.

And in fact agree with the same bleeding dictator that is now bombing the **** out of them for having the audacity to seek those memberships...

It makes perfect sense, the illegal, Western backed, coup, which removed he pro-neutral government and has increasingly sought to shutdown those either notionally pro-russian or pro-neutral contributed to pushing Putin into his war.

Just a friendly reminder that both sides in a war can be bad and you don't have to support anyone involved in it.

It’s fascinating isn’t it; find a poster spinning the Russian line, dig back a bit and you’ll find all the other nonsense some of us having been linking with Russia all these years.

Do your own research = dig about on the underside of the internet till you find all the ******** Russian disinformation that’ll make you look like you’re ‘in the know’ cos you dismiss ‘lame stream media’.

    utter geniuses
