snap three years ago they where alot off chalton fans wanting curbishley out (.sick off same **** ) and wanting to move onto next level. well they will certanily be on a differrent level next season . good way off assesing things like should we sack our manager is by asking opposition fans there opinion and i bet majority would say he his doing a resonable for us.
Oh dear... Did you go yesterday? The only thing we didn't do was put the ball in the net. By the way the only reason I said it was because they were viewing it as the season as a whole. It was a bit of a sarcastic response.
Your argument falls down , right about the bit where you mention Curbishly and then compare us to Charlton, they had a GOOD manager to start with, we are still hoping ours will evolve into one after 2 1/2 seasons. If you are sweriously happy with the same old stuff every season , fair enough, but to attack fans that just want progress is ludicrous. If we should just be happy to be in this league and not bothered about progression, that does not neccessarily mean promotion , just moving up the table and not being involved in a continual relegation scrap,, then maybe we should just pack in actually playing matches and just toss a coin for the points.
Yes i went yesterday. We completely dominated but came away with a point. ...so not that awesome really.
Did you think you got value for money? Entertainment-wise like... We were awesome. It was just one of those days where it just won't go in. If you think you have to score goals to play well then I think we should agree to disagree...
RE: Your argument falls down , right about the bit where I suppose the point he is making is that in striving to better yourself you can make things worse. I agree in principle that sometimes you've got to take that chance in life though. In practice I'm terrified of change (and making the wrong decision) which is why I am still doing the same safe job 25 years later. Seen so many take gambles and fall flat on their face.
I think the point of the thread is whether we should sack Davey So if we dominate a side for ninety minutes, but fail to capitalise on that because we're powder puff in the final third, I'm of the opinion that it sums up our problems with Davey altogether. It's another game away from home where we haven't hit the back of the net - and couldn't even do so when for most of the game we were clearly the superior team. You do realise that the point of the game is to score goals? And it's not like this is 'one of those games', actually (as far as we're concerned) it's another one of those games - and by that I mean Barnsley F.C. away from home not scoring, again. I can see where you're coming from - it's great to see us dominate a game, and very enjoyable (particularly with that style of football), but we're in a relegation scrap, and we always will be if we don't take three points from those opportunities. I rather have ten more points on the table from function and effective football, than be in the clag of a relegation scrap (again) delighting our away supporters as we take another point from what should have been three.
RE: I think the point of the thread is whether we should sack Davey I didn't really mean to make the point that he should stay because of one game I was just taking the piss. I agree with pretty much everything you've just said.
I wouldn't sack him. I'd like to see him loved by the gang of flying monkeys from the Wizard of Oz. That is all.
RE:October Why wait till then, he has had the backing and the time to make us better than a bottom 5 club. He has shown he cant do that and cannot complain at being sacked come the end of the season.
Thanks for the cup run Simon but your just not good enough. We need a manager that the fans believe in, someone who can change a game once it has started, too many times have we fallen behind in games and he has failed to do anything to help us get back into the match.
His loyalty to some players when they continuosly fail to deliver is ridiculous, crowds and season ticket sales next season will show exactly the damage he has done to this club.
