Oh yeah sorry I wasn't paying much attention to my own posts there. The problem of simon daveys poor performance as manager that saw us end last season poorly, have a terrible pre season and an even worse start to this season before darren moore's sending off FORCED davey to change things.
RE: "We are a small provincial club with no money and few fans"
So Barnsley isn't a small Town and we get 23000 in the ground every week.
Truth hurts mate.
Ive supported this club for 50 years so why would I want to **** off?

That attitude is disgraceful I'm afraid.. and even if it is accepted as the truth, it does not stop a decent manager getting more out of a decent set of players. Barnsley being a "small" place should never be used as an excuse and your deferential attitude makes me sick. We have as much right to be in this division as any other team because it is what happens on the patch of green that matters.
it wasn't a glitch look at daveys record. months of **** then a lucky win just as the axe is about to fall, then months of **** and again a lucky win, this is gone on for what a year now?
RE: That attitude is disgraceful I'm afraid.. Just being a realist.
If you were a fan from 1961 to 1967 you would see that these are good times for the Club.
Things have been much worse than they are now.
If you remember my post in the Ritchie days you would know I crticised him for saying we are an over achieving League 1 club.

What relevance has 1961-1967? About as relevant as 1997-1998. Make up your mind then? League One over achievers or Championship natural position? Perhaps if Davey said it you'd agree? There are a number of teams in this league who are no bigger or just slightly bigger than us and if we were doing well we'd get better crowds and in the Prem we could get 25-30k I think. Preston Blackpool Doncaster Rovers Charlton Watford Burnley Plymouth as a minimum at this moment in time. We should not use the size of the town as an excuse or acceptance for mediocrity.
I know many on here will disagree with me, but I do not see perenially avoiding relegation as either success, or progress. At best, in my opinion, it is stagnation. I wonder how Mr Cryne sees it? We'll probably have a clearer idea of his vision for Barnsley Football Club in May.
For what its worth... i never would have hired him in the first place, nor have i wanted him in charge since, but IF he was removed, who is out there to come and take his place? Having said that, i didn't want Ritchie sacked either.
I loved the attacking football we played under Ritchie, and enjoyed going to matches, shelling out £20 quid a game. But since Mr Davey has taken over, the 'football' has pretty much stopped, with the exception being the FA cup run, specifically the Chelsea performance. I don't enjoy going to games anymore, which has resulted in me not purchasing a season ticket, and only attending approximately 6 games this season. I'd seriously rather go shopping with the missus on Saturday afternoon now than go and watch boring negative football. Thats a prompt for the 'go support Wednesday' ******* to chirp up. It doesn't mean i support the club any less than anyone else, it just means i can't afford to keep paying through the nose for something i'm getting no enjoyment out of.
But, back to my original point, who replaces him? I can't think of 1 unattached manager at the moment who i'd want in charge instead. So, whilst i'm not happy with whats there at the moment, i'm afraid my vote is to keep him in place, for now, and have a look at the situation in the summer, whatever division we are in.

You're the one bringing up the past. What's Davey bringing to the table? Setting up a team to try to snatch a 1-0 win at home to the bottom of the league? Nice tactics.

Free Images England have a coach and we have the best english team for years...hes not a manager... Davy is good at getting players into the club..he is not a good coach... he has no idea with regard to tactics and getting the best out of players on the pitch....its on the pitch that matters...By definition The term Manager would tell you he is involved in the day to day running of the club.... we wand someone who can coach players to get the best out of them to play them in the right positions.. thats what coach does.........if you dont understand that refer back to the England situation..
Wouldn't he? He said Ritchie could have a contract for as long as he wanted. Then sacked him 6 weeks later.
