for a fair comparison you should look at the money that was made available to both teams-Hull have oodles of cash-and their support is far better-admittedly a lot of bandwagon jumpers-which we might get if success seemed on the cards-however it is a chicken and egg situation-will someone risk a lot of cash on what at the moment is a mid to bottom half team who can't half fill their stadium</p>

Brown spent &pound;500k on transfer fees.

But if you look at net spend, and by that I mean outgoing transfer fees versus incoming transfer fees, I reckon Davey's spent in the top five of this division since he took over.

In terms of numbers of players certainly.</p>

I just find it worrying that he's brought in 2 full teams and we're still lacking a midfielder, a left back and an out and out striker.
