I've had my foot stamped on playing football and rugby and I've had stuff dropped on it at work. Never on any of those occasions has my immediate reaction been to lift both my feet up and roll around holding my head. In fact rolling around has been the last thing I'd have been able to do even if I'd wanted to.

If that's a sending off then they should have finished the game with minus numbers.

Clear red. Would be stupid to appeal it. Obviously he’s not trying to hurt him but just loses control of the ball & does him on the ankle. Agree with Fonzie.

I’ve had my foot trodden on worse tonight, on my way back from the bar and carrying three pints.
    Didn’t even spill a drop.

On first viewing I thought it was a free kick the other way.

Must admit at the time I was surprised and from the replays I’ve seen it doesn’t look a red card challenge. I wasn’t worried about it at the time compared to some of their leading with Elbows which em were ignored and challenges on Kane and Thomas which were far worse I am somewhat miffed. For Cadden to miss 3 games but their players for malicious pre meditated fouls get nothing seems totally unjust

If it evens itself out over a season, we've got some decisions coming our way soon.

Seeing it live and on the replay it looks like a foul the other way if anything. Replay not a great angle but can't see a foul.

I have no idea how you are seeing a stamp. I’m seeing two players arriving at the same time.

Don’t think it’s worth appealing… slowed it down

Peterborough are going to be mightily unhappy with us again when we get those seven penalties against them in the last game to even things out for our season and knock them out of the play-off places :D

I think the majority are in the no foul, no red card camp and it really is difficult to see the definitive answer from the video clips posted on here. You would hope that the appeals people would have a sharper, more sophisticated view to go on and then overturn it (if appealed)

On the other hand, based on our poor treatment especially this season by the Referees Fraternity I would expect it to be thrown out with a supplementary 3 match ban for Duff, Devaney, Paterson......oh, and McGeehan, of course.

All of this recently is just grossly wrong but there seems to be nothing we can do about it.

Weird innit, opinions in football. The more I see it slowed down, the less I think it's a straight red. Yet others are saying it's a clear straight red. The most blatant red in world football gets totally ignored last week, with zero repercussion. No card. No penalty. No goal. No VAR. No appeal. No apology. No explanation. Nothing. Just suck it up. The tackle on Herbie Kane today was worse IMO. Yellow card. Yet if we choose to appeal this red, we risk an EXTRA game ban, for daring to question the authorities. The gross inconsistency just makes me rage tbh.

By way of balance here are 2 challenges the same ref didn’t think were red cards
The scissor tackle from behind on Thomas is my favourite

Can someone please explain the foul to me because I can't see one. Which foot does he 'foul' with for a start?

Their player on Kane wasn't "lost control". He was fully in control and went in with studs up in anger at a player who'd just shown him up for what he is. A third teir clogger. One of the worst refs I've seen at oakwell in ages. Six stoppages for head injuries and the message didn't sink in about their use of elbows. Had to be told by the 4th official he'd already booked their player to give him the red. Shrewsbury? An absolute nothing horrible side. Can't wait to see em drop out of the league, give Wrexham and notts county a chance.

If their player didn't go down like he'd been shot followed by six or seven of his mates surrounding the referee, its no more than a yellow to me.
The protestations were even more disgusting when you think about the elbows they had been throwing about and the 'tackles ' they had been putting in all game.

Thank you for putting those two clips on.
I think I said at the time, Cadden imho was reaching out having lost control of the ball, that was a foul and a booking.
Then let's look at the Thomas tackle...how on earth is he still on the pitch? and just look at their number eight what the hell?
The Kane tackle, I originally thought a booking but that looks red too if you compare it to Cadden.

Where in the ground were you sat ? I ask this because I was sat in the west & it looked a nothing challenge, was stunned when he got the red card , minds you I was stunned when Anderson got sent off against Bolton but thats another discussion .
