Its all about good running of a football club for the benefit of the football and the fans. BFC has shown, historically, that its capable of developing a good team and competing at very good levels. The problem is there is, at the moment, a drift/malaise/incompetence, call it what you will, running through the club from the top. Hence a Stevenage team can look better than BFC at the moment. The football club is badly run for a number of reasons and therefore there will be no challenge to Sheff Wed for the foreseeable future.

Us playing them in league one isn’t their norm though. They’ve only ever had 11 seasons at this level in their whole history. I think it’s more a case that clubs like Wednesday, Ipswich, Birmingham and Sunderland shouldn’t really be dropping down this far, than us feeling we should be hanging onto the coat tails when they go back up.

There are other clubs that have been to the premier league more recently than Wednesday, like Huddersfield, Wigan, Reading.

I get what your saying and there's no doubting some of it, but we were a complete different entity 17 months ago since the Wembley final, we still carried championship players, but Duff was also getting the best out of those players such as Cole, Mads and kitching who'd looked poor in our relegation season.
The additional income promotion gave Wednesday also naturally made the gap wider, but they stank the place out for 2/3rds of a season only an absolutely remarkable run keeping them up.
Had we got promoted that day at Wembley it would have been extremely difficult to survive last season in the championship and we still may be in the same division as we both are now.
Don't forget you are comparing us to a team who had the biggest wage bill in L1 in 22/23 and the 8th biggest wage bill in the championship 23/24 , just think it was a skewed comparison to begin with based on 2 league results it would be like saying we've regressed vs Leeds because we pumped them 5-2 and 4-1.
No denying we've gone backwards just the wrong comparator IMO.

Even after reading all the posts I still stick by the fact that we have some solid players for this league. We have a spine of a team akin to the 2005-6 squad, I think. I think the problem is the management

Said it before we haven't one player at the club who would get a game in a mid table championship side.
