Run by amateurs. It should never have happened in the first place and now they have to make changes spending cash we could do without spending.
Edit I misread the minutes (see where you are coming from.) I was as gobsmacked as anyone when the news was released prior to the Bolton game (as you well know) How on earth the supposed survey didn't identify that blocked vision was an issue. Is beyond me. If the thought was, well let's wait and see cos some of the buggers stand up anyway I'm baffled as it encourages standing by all in that area. The group (as opposed to the FAB) to the best of my knowledge certainly weren't aware.
Disagree. Some fans want it. And so do i. Just to be able to sit without some fekker blocking mi view. Safe standing is being rolled out among many clubs. if they get permission granted. And hopefully reduces the chances of having views spoiled. Only takes a few to stand up and the domino effect spoils it for all. And for those who say it should be policed. Good luck with that one. I've yet to go to a ground where folk en mass are refusing and arguing the toss. Get ejected. An impossible task. The cost to remove will be a fraction of installation. 55&C is aware given the review he posted . Of what may happen.
In reference pointing to your post. Of the review. The reference Of cost was aimed at the poster I replied to re if safe standing was removed from that area. I maybe should have divided the 2. Nothing sinister. Altered it.
Surely any safe standing area should/would have been better placed at the Grove street side, of the ponty They could have gone all the way down with out affecting anybodies view
Agree and 2 lots to shift. EL up against away end. Would have been my obvious choice. Rather than EL1. Plenty stand up there. vociferous And both sets of fans bringing the best atmosphere. Competing against one another. I'm also wondering giving they are considering EL1. Could it obstruct the disabled fans view over to that side. I also wonder if there is enough space in front of the disabled stand to be able to be used when practical. (Eg weather)
East Lower? Not a chance, they won't sell tickets in that area when it's a big game. More pitch invasions and trouble in that area v Leed/Weds, last thing they'd do is put safe standing right next to the away end.
I reckon it's not as major as you think. Big games will have more stewarding. Most games away end will be just the west stand side. And sold accordingly towards the east stand side. When we go away at most grounds you can hardly fit a cig paper between home and away fans. Verbals but no real trouble. A lot of stewards would control that corner. And not all those that stand want to engage in any trouble. Those that do, risk getting banned.
