Atmosphere was garbage in the late 80's and 90's

and it was standing! The atmosphere depends on the standard of football and success on the pitch not whether you stand up or not. Been to lower league games in the 2nd division and conference with friends and the atmosphere is not better because they are standing

Did you ever stand on the Kop when it was standing?

Nightmare! You couldn't see most of the game - wouldn't want to spend £40 and not see

No but say a standing allocation of 1000-2000 was made, then i could gurantee that the vocal fans, ones that like a bit of a banter, and to jump up n down a little, would almost certainly opt to stand there.

    Liverpool red.

You could still sit in the east stand and be boring..
While some fans like to sing and create an atmosphere!

Also, id love to see some drums in oakwell, not all the way through, but to the beat of the songs when they are started, but where would we put them, people would moan if they were anywhere, but say this area was created, im sure people would love them.

Sit in the Ponty and have done for the last 13 years

Nothing to do with being boring - love the atmosphere and the singing - no where on the post did I say that - don't want to go back to standing - end of!

But YOU dont have to, nobody is forcing you to stand, but many would like the option.

Is this an issue the Supporters Trust should lobby the club to get behind? Bradford City were the first football club to come out in favour of safe standing areas (giving fans the right to choose how they would like to watch the game) following a petition started by this guy http://www.standupforthebantams.co.uk/index.html

Obviously the Football Supporters Federation are trying to make changes in this area and started the safe standing campaign in 2007. Recently the liberal democrats have agreed to look into the issue http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/7613442.stm

I think conservatives have also said they would consider it, and i think it is a KEY issue the supporters trust should raise.
