No, i think youd probably need backing of more 'senior' members anyway.

    Of course

But there's no doubt that introduction of a safe standing area would have a positive effect on the atmosphere at Oakwell - just one reason he may back the idea.

Most definetly, and imo may increase the gate, i also think Cryne values the support highly with the current campaigns to gather support, do you know anybody i could contact in the suporters trust about this topic?

lower admission cost wouldnt increase the gate, it would only be

£2 or so, whoever said it would be £11 or so is well wide of the mark, the cost for yesterdays gme was £25, at Morecambe for 2nd division football its £13, and that was only increased £1 from the conference, price would be at least £20

It is something that has already been discussed at trust meetings in relation to feedback from the FSF campaign. I'm not sure if the matter has been discussed with the club or not. I know the FSF are looking at pushing the campaign on now.

well we dont have 32 tickets either

but cardiff at 16 is still 5-6 more than you suggested, as i say the second division standing prices are at least 13 so i cant see a championship club charging 10-11, cardiff does appear cheap though

What im trying to say though, is that you have to take in to consideration the percentage drop of the price of a certain club, this club being cardiff, if the drop is £32 to £16 thats a 50% drop, i think the relates to the fact the capacity is double while standing.

Personally i think people should have the choice to sit or stand so support the idea of safe standing areas. I'd probably choose to sit at Oakwell but would do whatever the rest of my mates do at away games if there were safe standing areas there. I think the introduction of a safe standing area in the right area of oakwell would really help improve the atmosphere. Perhaps part of the ponty end next to the east stand where many of the hardcore singers tend to congregate. Where would you put a safe standing area? Maybe there should be areas in each stand?

The other thing I often see at away games are groups of fans standing which then causes arguments with fans sat behind them.

The taylor report reckoned that within a generation football fans would have embraced sitting at football. This just isn't the case - time to rethink it!
