Let's be honest, if it wasn't for Conor pulling the strings and feeding him, plus Hammill taking the pressure off him being the sole goalscorer, he would've just been another Paul Hayes - Hit and miss.

He was hardly banging in the goals while we were in the duldrums, before Heckyarse took over.

If anyone he needs to thank Hourihane for making him look half decent

I think thats massively underestimating his ability as a striker and his contribution to the team, you could turn it around and say without him who would Hourihane be setting up?

Got 23 goals in league two the season before we signed him.
Got 9 goals in his first season for us when it was a poor, poor season with Wilson.
15-16 season he banged in 21 league goals for us in the promotion season.
the first half of the season after he got 11 goals for us until he went to Wednesday.

Being a bellend of a man doesn't and shouldn't take away from his ability as a footballer, and for me he was a top quality striker for us.

Just strange how he never continued that excellent goalscoring form in lesser sides, that didn't include the calibre of Hourihane

He scored 23 goals the season before without Hourihane in his team.

I think it's more to do with his body breaking down when he got to Wednesday and losing his fitness massively, which ultimately carried on until he had to retire at 32.

Tbf he wrecked his ACL shortly after he left us, he didn't do much after that.

if it wasn’t for De Bruyne pulling the strings & Gundogan taking the pressure off Haaland being the sole goal scorer then Haaland would be more like Max Watters.

    Ridiculous statement.

I didn’t mind him. But signing for Wednesday on the day of Norman Rimmington’s funeral, doesn’t sit well with me..

I love Winnall when we had him. The fans loved him. Him and Hourihane were an unreal combination for us.

But the way he left was classless. Even if he’d gone to Wednesday but made more of an effort in his goodbye, but instead it was a leaked photo on Rimmo’s funeral day and a half arsed statement.
He then had the chance to rise above the stick at Oakwell, but didn’t.

What’s he left with? The club he had his best spell at don’t like him. Nobody likes him. Hourihane will always be a hero here, but Winnall made himself a boo boy.

Show a bit of class and it makes all the difference
