    But a gun is designed for one purpose, to shoot a bullet and kill.

    A punchcard machine is designed for mathematical purposes.

    The 2 are hardly comparable.

    So by that line of logic, if someone uses an IBM PC to access child porn, or to investigate how to make a nail bomb, that makes IBM complicit in those crimes?

    The key line is

    "IBM and its German subsidiary custom-designed complex solutions, one by one, anticipating the Reich's needs."

    The clear implication is that IBM knew the needs of Hitler in terms of identifying and tracking the jewish population and designed solutions accordingly - If that's true the analogy stands


    And the bast@rds even made the trains to Auswictz (dodgy spelling before you point it out) run on time.
