He had a really good game yesterday? Wasn’t it him winning the ball back for our goal? He got stuck in and made us look less lightweight in the middle. Was far better with the ball than against Sheffield United and the extra height caused them problems too. It’s bonkers he got played there, but with hindsight, that had nothing to do with us not getting three points and contributed to a decent performance. He made his debut at CM as well didn’t he so it’s obviously something others have seen in him.
I think this sums up Markus' tenure with the Super Reds for me. There were many things against him, backroom staff leaving, not having his own support staff, visa issues, injuries, etc. However, his bizarre squad selections, bizarre starting eleven and bizarre substitutions were the deciding factors for me.
This I'm not saying moon was bad. Benson came one and made much more Iseka and Cole were a threat. Much more than we've had previously But to say moon was MOM is stretching it
Did you not see the word ‘arguably’ in there mate? Might change the tone of your posts. I’d have Williams, Moon and Devante as the best three performers and I wouldn’t complain with any order. Of course Benson came on and created more, that’s his job and his attributes, but Moon helped break up play better than Gomes and offered some strength in there that I think allowed Benson to get on the ball further up the pitch rather than between the CBs like he’s been guilty of in the past.
And contributed to a defeat in which we were the better team but conceded soft goals and were unable to capitalise ourselves partly due to us selecting a centre half in midfield who neither protects the defence nor creates chances, even in games where he doesn't look quite as out of place as usual.
He’s always had my respect, he was dealt a properly crappy hand and I’m sorry it went the way it did.
He’s a central defender. He’s also a professional footballer and hence plays where the manager tells him to.
Respectfully disagree in terms of yesterday. We didn’t not take the points because of Moon’s involvement and looked as good as we have since QPR with him in the side. The bar is set insanely low on that front sadly, but he broke up play well enough to get praise for his performance rather than ridicule, and was one of our better performers. He didn’t look out of place at all.
I'm not blaming Moon for being selected in midfield, I'm blaming the manager we've just sacked, partly due to the fact that he plays centre halves in midfield and leaves us at a disadvantage before we've even kicked off.
