I meant in terms of saying ‘But to say Moon was MOTM is stretching it’ when I said arguably, rather than outright claimed it. Was up for discussion, throwing it out there, having a chat, etc.
Usually when a manger leaves a club the press release confirms who is temporarily taking over in the same statement. If Schopp has walked, or all this has been done late in the day today, perhaps the club are trying to make these arrangements before officially confirming?
As a former nurse, I 'm relieved for him and his family,I didn't like the personal abuse even though he was doing a poor job. The club is appalling run at the moment, he was isolated from the beginning and became a shield against the owners. Just like Tottenham Hotspur, the Coach is taking all the flak for the mistakes by those above. I thought they would give him the next 2 games,as performances have improved slightly. If there is no replacement plan of succession (stop laughing at the back),the club have created yet another football problem. Perhaps the owners are seeing the posts from supporters who are planning to stop spending money at the club? I don't see any cause for jubilation if the rumours are true, just another example of poor management at the top.
Assuming the reports from the local press are accurate (and there's no reason to doubt them), it'll be interesting to see who's in charge for these two upcoming home games at the very least. Perhaps Joseph Laumann, or Tonda Eckert? Martin Devaney, or Bobby Hassell?
If he has walked then I’ve lost even more respect for the owners, and Sunday night does seem an usual time
Probably be one of the first team coaches, I can't imagine devaney is involved much with the first team and Hassell won't be involved at all. I'd prefer someone who actually worked under Val too, hopefully they can instill some of that grit and determination we had last season.
Could they not just say he's gone and we will make further announcements in the morning to confirm the way forward.
Some of our players have been rubbish.. they too must shoulder responsibility for our league position.
I don't think questioning team selection is being involved in a witch hunt, hunting either Jasper Moon or Markus Schopp. I think Moon has had some reasonable performances in central defence while still coming to terms with the professional game and I think Schopp has ultimately lost his job due to poor team selection and an inability to motivate the squad to the required level. Moon didn't play badly yesterday but Schopp selected him ahead of other midfield options who I believe would have offered considerably more creativity which would have given us a much better chance of turning good team performance in to a good result. If that opinion is considered a witch hunt then so be it, but I strongly disagree.
Couldn’t be happier! Wish I could say thanks for everything you’ve done Markus but I’m afraid to say probably the worst manager Barnsley has ever seen and the post match interviews and relationship with the fans stank. See you later
