at this stage, I reckon the only other thing he could do is come out and basically apologise for being $hit. almost say 'can we start again?' the Barnsley fans are a pretty forgiving bunch, when players/managers/owners hold their hands up. but he's not gonna do that. I don't think any manager would. it's not in their dna. he must know he's in a no-win situation with the fans now. if he goes over, he gets booed and the players feel that. if he doesn't, he gets hammered for not going over. so he's probably thinking option 2 is the least $hit.
Even I have decided time is up for him but some of the stuff in this thread is completely ridiculous. does he want to fail? No. Is he just here for a pay off? No Is he good enough? No. this whole building a relationship with fans is just another thing to beat the bloke with. The way to build a relationship with fans is to win games. He hasn’t done that. Therefore there is no relationship. As for motives coming here. Look at the last 2 permanent managers. That’s why he came here. But realistically that’s why anyone comes here. if he’d done some pointless fan forums (or gone for a beer in a pub in barnsley) people would still want him sacked. And probably at this stage rightly so. All that matters is what happens on the pitch.
Would it help his cause any to just front up at a Supporters' Meeting and face his Critics head on? Or is his ego too big to allow himself to lower himself?
He's a pretty nice guy by all accounts and I don't hear that he has some big ego. It's a difficult situation though to volunteer to put yourself in.
Not sure I agree with that. Barnsley fans aren’t a lynch mob. If Schopp came out sincerely, and said he wanted to talk to the fans in a sensible setting, I would love to think people would be up for that. He would get challenged, and rightly so, but I think people would be fair.
I'm not saying that you're wrong - his decisions sometimes seem very odd indeed - but why would someone deliberately sabotage their career? To get sacked with a nice payout? Perhaps, but surely that's not a very clever career move? I don't think that Schopp's deliberately trying to lose, I suspect that he's just being desperate and even he doesn't believe in his chances anymore.
I,d like him to sent packing and try our damned hardest to get Rotherham,s manager in sharpish love the guy great sense of humour and a very good manager.won,t happen though.
I really love your positivity. Unfortunately I’m not sure I agree! Let’s face it there are already baseless allegations he is arrogant on this thread alone, along with other people intentionally spelling his name wrong or questioning his motives for managing us.
