Isn't the difference that one club buys its players from a sustainable business model. Ie spending no more than what they generate in revenue while the other just spends spends spends money they have never generated but instead have been given by a rich bloke. A bit like us really
Under the Glaziers , Man Utd are operating in the same way as Chelsea ,City etc. Its hypocritical to say other wise.
Because it's my opinion that the Glazer family have dragged Manchester United down to the level of both Chelsea and Manchester City when it comes to spending money. I am genuinely looking forward to seeing Bastian Schweinsteiger player in the Premier League though, I've been fortune enough to see him live 3 times before.
John, it is now that they are signing him, not in the past. They are exactly the same as other clubs, worse in that they sign all the youngsters they can at an early age. You should see there Academies, filled with players from all over the Country, players that have little chance of playing for them and as can be seen at the moment they are getting shoved out of the club.
That's funny, a City fan talking about signing players for the sake of it. I don't have any particular love for Man U but at least they don't throw 10m at English players purely to tick a box for the quota and then just play them in the league cup.
It certainly isn't and it's been happening for years. United, City, Chelsea and even back in the days of the old first division Liverpool weren't shy of spending a few quid although not on the scale of the spending we see now.
He's a quality player but he's probably past his peak, he's been kept out of the Bayern side by an even older & more past his peak Alonso & German's hardly have a great reputation of performing in the Prem. I wouldn't be getting too excited
2 reasons why... Pep preferred Xabi Alonso, his own player. Bastian spent of last season fighting niggling injuries.
