The bookies have us as marginal outsiders for this one. Oxford had a dismal start to the season, but have picked up since around November, and now sit 14th in the table and closer in terms of points to the top 6 than the bottom 3. At home, whilst Oxford only have the 15th best record in the division, they are on a run of 1 league defeat in 6 matches at the Kassam Stadium, including a victory over Ipswich in their last home game. Since then though, they have suffered back to back away league defeats against Burton and Wycombe, without scoring. They did finish last year with an unbeaten run of 10 games, albeit 6 were draws, and have had difficulty seeing teams off. At Oxford, we're winless in our last 5 visits. Our most recent victory there was in 1991, although overall, we're unbeaten against Oxford this century, with a win at Oakwell and Wembley, and a draw at the Kassam. I'm going for a tight game, with Luca Connell getting the decider midway through the 2nd half.
Under normal circumstances I'd be tipping us for a win, but after ten days without a proper game, I'll go for a bit of rustiness leading to an unfortunate 1-1 draw with Oxford equalising after around 70 minutes after we've dominated but failed to put the game to bed.
Really not sure on this one - our 10 day rest doesnt help us much. I think both teams will score and whoever scores first is key. Head says 2-1 to Oxford ( Heart says the other way round)
