Yarmouth, Brighton, Southend or any suggestion down south for a young family with children aged 4&2 please. Only going for 4 nights but would like advice on where might be best. I did Bournemouth 2 years ago and it was brilliant but we do like to try new places. Thanks in advance

Not sure what Yarmouth is like these days but we went every year on the caravan parks when I was a kid in the 80s.

Great Yarmouth is good for youngsters...plenty to do in and around said place. used to work in Southend but not sure i'd go back with kids. Brighton....no clue!

Why down South? Long way from Royston for just 4 nights
Brighton is good but not sure for really young kids as beach is all pebbles
In fact there isn’t much sand on the south coast between Portsmouth and Dover
Haven’t been to Great Yarmouth since I was a nipper around 1970 I think. Remember it had a decent beach

If the South West is also an option Dawlish or Torquay are good

Was there a couple of days ago. Pretty nice for a decent sized seaside town. Looked to be lots to do for kids (including the Sealife Centre), decent chippies, surrounded by beautiful Georgian buildings and a sandy beach. And there's Dorchester just to the north which is a lovely old town.

Also in Dorset, Swanage is nice, but a lot smaller than Weymouth. But there is Corfe Castle next door which is a must see.

Hopefully the snail ride is still there at Joyland if you go to Yarmouth!

MableThorpe for young kids . Loads for them and miles of golden sandy beaches.
Skegness and theme park just a short ride away too .
