just checked the Ticket site, it quite clearly says 5 - 11

so to that end they really have no need to give any further explanation. That said I do in many ways agree with your plight. I do not doubt that there are under 5's with said ticket, but do you have to produce the birth certificate? Its easily blagged I would bet. Why not turn up on the day of a match and pay at the gate, if you get in that would make a good photo and letter to send to the media. Lastly I cannot see any huge problem of perhaps making the family area in the upper stand, not a lot of danger then from the said flying balls. Also surely a concerned parent is gonna at least try to parry or catch a ball to stop it harming ANY of his family members.

If he turned up with his under age kid and took a photo hoping to gain publicity then i really hope the club would ban the parent for breaching health and safety, whether its health and safety gone mad or not those are the rules and we have to adhere to them.

    Re: mebbe but

Why do we sell clothing in our clubshop and online for under 5s if the kids the items are bought for can't watch the club on the items they are wearing? "Come spend your money on clothes for your kid, but you can't bring him in our ground as we know better than you do about your own child".

Yes they should. How can it be policy if they are only partly enforcing it? If no under 5`s are allowed then that should mean ALL under 5`s, including players and officials kids too.
One rule for all then there is no arguments to be had. SIMPLE!!!
Will the ball know that the kid it is aiming for is 5 or 6? Or if they had a season ticket last season and therefore they are a legitimate target to hit?

These under 5's that have season tickets. Could it not be that they've had them for a season or two and this new rule is for new applicants? Do you know of an under 5 who's just got a season ticket, for the first time 'this season'?
Although I don't agree with the H&S argument, I think under 5 is too young to give a FREE ST seat up to for an entire season.
I take 2 of my kids, have done since they were 6 & 7. One ST is free, the 2nd I pay £30 for (was £25 last season). My son missed 1 match, where my daughter went to less than half. It depends on weather or if it's a night match with school in morning.

In terms of behaviour and attention span every kid is different, I had a few seasons in the Family Stand with an 11yr old who was a pain in the neck sat behind us, rarely did he last a full match before his Dad had to take him out but some 3 yr olds will sit quite happily watching the game in a well behaved manner . Not many parents will want to bring very young children week in week out to the game ,some single parents haven't a choice if they want to go to the game their child has to come with them, maybe Don can arrange creche facilities at the club on match days. As for H&S concerns, that is a load of balls

Making the Family Area up in the East Stand Upper also poses H&S risks, in the event of a fire/emergency the lift wouldn't be in use so you have people/kids/babies/old people trying to get down the stairs. Mayhem.

Absolutely. That's why children aren't allowed in tall buildings and families are banned from blocks of flats. It would be mayhem otherwise.
