We’ve renewed (me, brother and grandad). It’s always the way that the negative comments are louder than the positive ones. That goes for anything in life really. I must say I’m a bit surprised that the “haven’t and won’t” percentage is just under 20% as it stands. Although I imagine that figure isn’t as high if they did a survey of all fans, rather than just on here.
I've got a couple of mates who I think are seriously considering not going, because they're not enjoying it anymore. I've renewed because I do enjoy it, despite how poor some of the football has been. I'm also firmly in the Collins in camp. I personally think he's got more out of the squad than he probably should have, and that the current dip in form is down to a combination of fatigue, bad luck, some bad decisions from an inexperienced coach, and maybe one or two players who might have an eye on next season. I like the idea of continuity, and starting a season with the same coach that finished the last. He needs to be given the right tools for the job though, which I think has been one major failing by the board this season.
Maybe it's the same person who's opinion I keep reading. I've said before, I'm often drawn to people who I disagree with.
Stopped going in 2019 after going for over 50 years. Not been tempted back yet. Not even close! Was hard to miss home games at first, but don't miss it at all now. Still support the Reds from the sofa but see nothing positive from the current board. It's just a player farm. Sign a few and hope they get lucky.
I'm not a season ticket holder. I just go to a few games a season now as I've had the lifelong desire sucked out of me by the board (mainly Conway). However, if Collins is here next season I simply won't go. I've made my mind up about him now and unless there's a massive reassessment by him of how he thinks the team should be set up I wont change my mind again. The football is absolutely awful. I go into Oakwell feeling ok and come away feeling depressed even if they win. Why should I do that to myself? If they played well and lost I'd be more inclined to go paradoxically. There's an entertainment aspect to watching the team as well as a results aspect. If the entertainment is carp and its clear the manager is carp and the board won't act why should I bother? The board need to change their approach and they need to energise the fan base, initially by getting rid of Collins. Sorry for rant but I'm fed up with the club at the moment.
Me and young Alfie won't be there next season, two fold really were not enjoying it its turned into a bit of a chore to be honest and fortunately he's good enough to play jpl Saturday football so off to watch him play.
Annoyingly I was going to renew tonight as heard from my dad earlier. I don’t really want to do it straight after the sacking though as it looks like it swayed my decision.
After receiving my auto-generated email this morning cancelling my iFollow account, and being informed by @YTBFC that a better platform is in the offing, I’ll be renewing my long-distance, early morning access to the BFC games. This is not reliant on the manager or division, just an old fart that’s been there since the old 4th Division days. It’s just a habit.
