That's the second teaser comment you've made, I find it strange that the club, don't just come out and announce it now. They obvs have an idea as it was imparted to those there at the meeting. If it hasn't been signed off, then they should have got their arses into gear and got it signed off prior to the meeting and get it out there whilst we are on the up slightly and feelings are not as negative as they were. We either have a PR dept without a clue or owners who don't let managers of departments manage. Pretty sure it's the latter. How do they become so wealthy when they don't have a clue about PR and motivation.
I say this every year. It’s not a surprise to ST renewals but you have to presume that the majority of them will be renewing no matter what date it is released, so long as the price isn’t awful. The people it does surprise are the people who matter (in terms of potential new customers which every business needs). Anyone who’s never bought a ST before probably has no idea that they go on sale in April for a smaller price for a very limited time. They start thinking about buying a ticket around July and have a look at prices, or maybe even June for Father’s Day. At that point, the price is extortionate (in my opinion, I’d never pay it) and to make it worse, rubs salt in the wounds by telling you the price you missed. There must be tons of people they miss out on by upping the price so much. I know of quite a few who’ve looked later on and thought ‘sod that’ but would have paid the Early Bird price. Some years it’s barely advertised before the time frame has gone, it’s been almost sneaked out. Last year, was better advertised though I think.
I think the point was made by the club that they need to get better at attracting new season ticket holders and improve the outreach in schools. Something the new ceo of reds in the community is going to be looking into. I guess this is also part of that engagement /marketing. I think you are right though there is a mentality that if you’ve missed the early bird you think twice about paying full price. I’m sure i did this one year, and due to the number of games i missed from working away, i didnt buy one at full price. Eventually I coughed up a few games in. We must have been playing well
The idea was to take feedback from fans. They need to be able to take on board the points raised and action them so your point isn’t really valid. Id have thought your point about getting it out while we are doing better is exactly what is happening
I won't be renewing. Ive become an armchair supporter and things are so bad I have even walked out from there at most games. However in the spirit of the greater good and ones who will buy, I would expect the club to keep prices the same. However looking at it from the clubs perspective, costs are rising and income will reduce so I wouldn't be surprised to see say a 5% increase.
I agree. But the logic could be that if we are such a bad position and people still go, then they will still buy one at a higher price. Remember there are very few examples of decisions the owners have made based on fans. But as I said I would hope they freeze them again.
I might watch the q&a with Khaled and Loko/gally again because I'm sure he stated during that that ticket prices wouldn't go up
These owners These owners are the type to increase by 3% and claim they gave a discount based on inflation.
I think we only sold 11k st's on the back of Val, hope of another promotion push and 18 months of lock down. Be lucky to get 7k, probably way less if we drop to L1.
Can start with the West Stand debacle. Making people who have sat there for decades move into another part of the ground, all whilst letting someone else sit in their seat during games.
Thanks to @Fonzie for replying to this as I hadn't noticed it. Yes there's the west stand. Closing it for safety reasons that changed to operational reasons before Khaled finally admitted stewarding numbers was behind it. Kicking out long standing fans and putting club employees and guests in their seats instead. £750,000... Mis-selling season tickets. Lying about the reasons for delays of vouchers and generally trying to fob off customers only to eventually come up with vouchers that were embarrassing and in my opinion deliberately so. Claiming that we had a deal lined up for dike and it was within the club's budget only to change that and state we couldn't afford him in the division we were in when the deal was agreed. Mis-selling season tickets and selling shirts on seats that they could never have legally delivered in the first place. Promising that if we were ever in a position to push for promotion they would back that push only to then destroy a play-off team and replace it with what we've witnessed this year. Mis-selling season tickets and selling a digital Access zone that they never delivered. Disgusting 21 word statement and a complete refusal to speak to Barnsley fans but an eagerness to talk to Scottish press. Getting involved with matchday tactics and prioritising profits over points. Knowing for months that fans are desperate to hear from the owners yet complete silence from them. Should I go on? Ps. I consider the words and actions of a CEO, as appointed by owners to be a spokesman and working under their instruction, to be a reflection of them.
please tell me we're abolishing the term 'seasonal membership' and bringing back 'season ticket'. I'd renew on that alone
I'm 60 next year but after the season starts, does anyone know if I will qualify for a O.A.P. ticket?
