RE: Wenceslas No It's "Good King Wenceslas looked out" - though I must admit for ages I thought what your lass did. http://www.royalty.nu/Europe/Wenceslas.html
RE: Wenceslas i thought that wenceslas was pronounced wenceless so it was good king wenceless last looked out..
Wassail Cup - Apparently its a bauble??? No its not I've just checked it up and its a drinking cup used in festive times and it originated in 1680!!! Now that is **** beat that!!!
RE: Wassail Cup - Apparently its a bauble??? The cup was decorated and hung from a tree; but it's only really known like this around Barnsley. Elsewhere it's a big wooden cup, but in Yorkshire and in Barnsley especially it was small and decorated. Also instead of Baubles people used to hang apples from the tree (which is why we have round baubles today). wassail is a kind-of apple mulled wine. It's an old Pagan thing, but then so are Christmas trees.
RE: Wenceslas No it's pronounced Wence-les-las I did used to wonder why it was the last time he looked out!
