I fear the challenge now will be making them bat twice.

Sad that after one day the test is already lost to one of the worst Australian sides ever.

Not sure I'd go as far as to say one of the worst Australian sides ever. They're much better than 2009-15, and the teams they had in the 80s. Warner, Smith and Labuschagne are in the top 6 ranked batters in the world.

Challenge will be taking a wicket tomorrow, and still being able to stand by the end of the day.

It is indeed, but when you have a bunch of losers with no backbone or fight then this is what happens. Aus to bat 3/4 of day 2 then declare. They will probably have us 5 or 6 down by close of play day 2 for not very many. As I said above, England should leave after Adelaide and come home. Save us the shame of a 5-0 loss.

We've kept hearing how they've had 18 months to prepare for this tour and quite frankly it's embarrassing. It's almost like we're winging it. Team selections awful, preparation awful.

Based on what I've seen so far then Silverwood has to go and Root shouldn't be far behind.

I remember saying to someone at work a few months back when doubt still existed over the tour we would have better offer just not going.

Root would get in on his immense batting skills and useful bowling. I just don't see him as Captain. There's too much temptation to have average to poor Captains and wicket-keepers who are principally batters.

If we don’t get early wickets tomorrow the wheels may well and truly come off.

Easy drop by Buttler with Labuschagne on 21 and now he's 95 not out. Those are the moments that cost us.

Get up to see England have taken a few wickets, and root opening the bowling in the afternoon session which is bizarrre. And Anderson doing an impression of Paul Collingwood’s bowling

    Decent start to the day.

Also, there is no way that this is a poor Auzzie side.

    Warner/Smith/Lab

    Cummins/Hazelwood/Starc/Lyon

There's 7 genuine top quality performers there.

It's a shame there's a distinct possibility that when Australia reach 400 they won't have to bat again.

One of the issues with our team is that we know they can’t bat long enough to salvage draws. So we either win or lose, and you’re not going to win many conceding 400+ first innings which is par for the course in Australia.

One of not the worst. They have dominated in the past over decades. We've let a ageing Warner get scores in the 90s back to back. They chuck in a newbie only playing due to other circumstances and we can't get him out. Aussies even take the piss letting a crying cheat captain them.

Is the newbie you're referring to Carey? If you knew anything about cricket you'd know he's a very good talent and is actually a batting improvement on Paine.
