That's a very odd response to what Old Gimmer said.

My original post was aimed at the people who personally abuse players

So, nobody on the BBS by the looks of it, so why post such a thing?

He received five 'abusive' tweets at the time that's talked about. Three of them from Glen Dowle who sent Butterfield about 20 a day a couple of years ago. He's a known troll. The other two again came from one individual, who as it turned out, had not attended a game last season.
I can't speak for owt abusive he received on other platforms, but if the abuse that's talked of is purely those five tweets, the lad needs to grow the **** up, nemind learn to defend properly. His girlfriend gives more abuse out via the same medium than any BFC supporter. She threw a right hissy fit after reading one of my blogs which dared to blame her boyfriend for a goal we conceded.

Folk need to get a grip.

I once tweeted saying that while I don't think Wiseman is the best defender in the championship I can't fault his workrate and that people abusing him is not on plus it is the manager who selects the team, Scott is just doing his job (or words to that effect). Their lass retweeted it and then blocked me an hour later going off on one about my abuse.

It's been touched upon, but Wiseman is indeed a confidence player. Here's a player who Hill actually released after his first season at Dale - we offered his other RB Simon Ramsden another deal who then sodded off to Bradford so we went back to Wiseman again. One of the best (and luckiest) moves Hill made as Wiseman was crucial to the way we played during our best seasons. Even then the criticism he'd receive from the bench would border on unfair at times, and as fans witnessing it there didn't seem to be much point as he would visibly rise in confidence after the crowd responded to one of his 50 yard runs. it was a bit of a surprise that Hill took him to Oakwell actually, not because Wiseman couldn't do the job, but more that you never got the impression he was his biggest fan.

He's evolved as a player and looked far better centrally on the occasions when I've seen him for you lot. He was terrible at RB at Burnley last season, but again the comments from the away end didn't help. Think the best thing for him now is a move. He'd be perfect for us if we got promoted; was unplayable at times in L1 and I had him as player of the year that season over the likes of Jones, COG and Dawson.
