Balance of nature indeed, even though it's heart-breaking when they tear through my garden mice and dismantle wood pigeons on the vegetable patch.

Not a juvenile, adult female. Last time someone posted a sparrowhawk pic they were threatened with admin. Kestrels!

Sparrowhawk flies around Carlton pretty much every day, rarely have the camera close enough to capture a pic though. And a few years back, I opened the kitchen blind one morning to see this drenched Kestrel fledgling sat on the kids garden slide. DSCF0999.jpg DSCF2308.jpg

I race pigeons and thebird is a female sparrowhawk They are feeding themselves up ready for going to nest
The **** bird is not as big. He will feed her while she sits the eggs. He will take small songbirds to her like bluetits
Mother nature balances the plusses and minuses out and used to keep a balance
Present day the bird of prey situation has got out of hand. Too many do gooders have tipped the balance
We as pigeon men are everyday living with attacks on our birds. Horrible death. If the bird is lucky the hawk will severe its main artery in the neck. If it is unlucky it will pluck flesh out of its back whilst it lives through it. The birds then die of severe shock
This is occurring everyday at this time of year. There are too many through Rspb and others turning a blind eye to falsebreeding methods. Churches putting nest boxes up for nesting sites mainly Peregrine falcons. Absolute killing machines
There has to be a balance and do gooders have to leave mother nature to restore the balance
It is heart breaking when one of your best racers gets mutilated in such a grotesque way
