    Ah but what if....

You are a Centenary Society memeber and an Ipswich stubber? Are you allowed to use both to get tickets?

    Unravel this one

10/3/08 - EARLY TICKETING NEWS: Quite clearly says that <u>Non</u> Season Ticket Holders who are members of the Centenary Society can purchase a maximum of 2 tickets

    http://www.barnsleyfc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10309~1261675,00.html

14/3/08 - DAY BY DAY WEMBLEY TICKETING ARRANGEMENTS: Just says Centenary Society members can purchase a maximum of 2 tickets</p>

     http://www.barnsleyfc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10309~1265286,00.html</p>

Could this be another example of BFC changing their mind on the hoof, like the 3 months centenary subs up front becoming 12 months in the space of a few hours?</p>

    No

According to box office this morning its either centenary membership or stubs not both. You can queue with two centenary membership cards and get 4 tickets, you can queue with 4 Ipswich stubs and get 4 tickets ...but you can't queue with 1 centenary membership and 2 Ipswich stubs and get 4 tickets (dunno)

they're making it up as they go along....

That contradicts what Don Rowing told me on the morning of the Ipswich game.

I was trying to join the centenaries but objected to being fleeced for £100 as prior to them opening that morning it had been only £24 up front. Ended up getting through to the man himself and explained that I was coming to the Ipswich match which would get me 2 tickets for the semis but the missus and my youngest couldn't make it, so wanted to join the society for the other 2. He said that was possible and we even came to an agreement re the price of joining the society.

With after thought I decided not to bother as we go to about a third of all matches, home and away and a centenary ticket is only going to ever get me a max 2 tickets. Us being a FAMILY of 4 who always go together, that isnt really much use and I wasnt joining twice. So the mrs sorted herself out and we all went up for the Ipswich game.

But bottom line is Don initially said I could use 2 ticket stubs and 2 centenaries to get 4 semi tickets.
Bloody glad I didnt join now

    Probably not

if they dont sell enough to ST holders the ticketting policy will become very fluid no doubt.

I severely doubt that they would be able to enforce such a policy in any case since they are selling for cash at the turnstyles.

    RE: just for info

We had a discussion pertaining to the fact that the club were still advertising that you could join by paying 3 months in advance on the website yet were actually asking for 12 months up front. Don said that this would be changed later. I said that until it was changed then they could not charge a different fee as what the club were doing was false advertising and they were acting illegally. It's not but Don didnt seem to know that.

He was anxious that people were playing the system and joining only to cancel in 3 months time just to get priority on Wembley tickets. Stating the obvious I think. I said that in order to avoid upsetting loyal fans, rather than suddenly change the payment period, why not tie people into a 12 month contract, paid by DD or SO and not allow them to cancel within 12 months, but still only ask for 3 months payment up front. He said that was a good idea (remind me what he does?) and that he would do that for me. We would have to act on trust as no such contract had been devised by the club, I was to email him my details and I'd be in the society for the £24 that it had always been prior to that morning.

Fair play to him, he was trying to make ammends and was pleasant enough, he's just a little out of his depth and floundering.

    thanks

I'm waiting for a reply to my very polite email sent earlier today. I'm extremely confused about the policy regarding Centenary Soc members and Ipswich stubbers and postal applications. I'm sure that Don will be able to ease my mind. (I've decided to be really calm and pleasant about the whole ticketing situation so as not to spoil my enjoyment of the end of season!)

When I made the same enquiry last Friday I was told 4 for my ST but "with a wink" there was nothing to stop me going back on Monday although obviously its highly unlikely the seats would be together.
