    QUOTE I don't think we ever looked relegation fodder during Davey's time at the club although the cup run in 2008 was a big distraction to the players had a big impact on league form. I didn't particularly like Davey's character and was never sure he really knew what he was on with but they were pretty enjoyable times.

    Didn't we have a last match or next to last cliffhanger with Norwich and Plymouth to see who went down when Davey was manager?

    Got us out of a right mess in his first season. Lower mid-table mediocrity in his second season, never in the bottom 3, never in a relegation battle, which is what everyone said they wanted.

    Gudjon Thordasen, But he was royally shat on big time.

    he could and probably would have been one the best managers in our history.

    last to do a good job was Robins

    Davey did OK in his first year but then we were going downhill

    and Ritchie did OK as the last manager to really take us forewards

    Simon Davey

    took us to the FA Cup Semi Final for the first time in almost 100 years after thrilling victories against Liverpool (at Anfield) and Chelsea. And kept us in the Championship 3 seasons running.

    Robins, on a £8 million wage bill, and including the sale of Shackell a profit of around 800k for the season.

    Its gunna be interesting to see the next lot of accounts.

    Simon Davey for keeping us in the league in his first season despite being thrown from training kids to training a brand new championship side in one go. Also for his cup run.

    Before that Andy Ritchie for getting us out of a terribly boring league with on paper a side that wasn't that good.

    Even further back Gudjon Thordason for doing well for us while we were in administration.

    Dave Bassett for being so close to getting us back into the premiership and giving us a day out at the old Wembley.

    So by my reckoning we've had four alright managers since Danny Wilson.

    Mark robins, took the club forwards by not looking like relegation candidates every year. This is a fact constantly lost on Andy giddings and radio Sheffield who claim we have struggled with our championship status since we came back up, fookin rubbish presenters!
