    I believe Keith was referring to Don Rowing. His nemesis. Ridiculous that they were seemingly at loggerheads throughout. And again, for what it's worth when I spoke with Keith (after they dicked us 3-0 this season) he reiterated his good feelings for 'the Cryne family' and 'terrific fanbase', only wishing he was allowed to see out the plan. But 'for everything a reason'. He actually said that. He's ace.

    laughable in the same way as tooth ache eh Zaz ? im appalled that Johnson is still in the job but two things are getting more and more obvious,
    he wont resign, because if he had any dignity he would have walked long before putting us in this position.
    and cryne doesnt seem to care and wont sack him, so its lg two for us just so he and his boardroom mates can keep their pride in tact.

    No manager, even SAF, is/was solely responsible for identifying players. Carlos Queroz told Fergie about Ronaldo, it was still Fergie who gave the final decision.

    What went on with Colace is absolutely no different to any other player. Someone obviously mentioned he may be worth a look, LJ looked and said no. We didnt sign him. Hence he has the final say.

    Ok but the rest still stands. Its quite common in football for someone else to mention a player to the manager, it even happens on a sunday morning... 'Have you seen that kid who plays for...... We should try and get him down'

    Think your listening to the fairytale stories. Queroz had told Fergie about Ronaldo a long time before that and there was a deal already in place for him. That game just made them bring forward the arrangement.

    So, to sum up, you completely agree with the point I was making: Lee Johnson is not solely responsible for identifying players. The statement, reportedly coming from Mr Cryne, is false.

    I can think of only one reason that this (mis)information is being put out there: distance the board from any mistakes that are being made and heap all the responsibility on the shoulders of the manager in preparation for another sacking.

    Personally, I don't think Lee Johnson should be sacked. However, unlike with many dismissals in the past, this sacking could well be justified. You can certainly put together a very compelling argument at any rate. Top and bottom of it is that the results have't been good enough. If we continue to lose games he will be sacked (sooner rather than later by the sounds of it) and it will be difficult for any of us to argue that the decision is the wrong one. With that in mind I see absolutely no reason for telling us that Lee Johnson is solely responsible for identifying players when we all know that isn't the case. The board already have their valid reason for a sacking, the results, and they have the backing of the majority of fans, many of whom would dearly like to see Johnson go.

    I hope it doesn't come to that and we go on a winning run which moves us up the table and away from this relegation battle. But if we should falter, I think the writing is now on the wall.
