LOL.. have to agree with you fella and this is coming from me ..the Dragon... who is more than an expert of in the art of "opening his gob and putting his foot in it"... so on this occasion you are all getting expert advice here
Mathematically, it's barely possible. We've to outscore Wigan by 11 points in 9 games, we only outscored them by 12 I believe in the 17 games prior to last weekends. Walsall are also 10 points ahead of us, and have a better goal difference. As have Gillingham and Millwall who have a 5 and 4 point advantage over us as well. Everyone in the top 6, barring Walsall, has Burton to play. Gillingham also have Millwall and Walsall to play, so it's likely that some of the top 6 will take points off others in the top 6 w hich again, doesn't necessarily help us. As I said to start with, mathematically very difficult. Realistically, impossible. Let's focus on cementing a top 6 place. Sent from my I-Oven using the internets
**** it then lets not even bother..... seriously matey that's the final straw in you being appointed the official 'Village Idiot' in the BBS Village.
I think we should be aiming for second until it's absolutely mathematically impossible. I don't for a second think we'll do it, but if we do fall short of that target, we're very likely to be in the playoffs, which would constitute a very good season.
Re: but he is also the man I was one literally a hand full who want Danny Wilson in 90s aabd we improved every game under him
Re: **** it then lets not even bother..... seriously matey Well what ate yiu saying then. We either go for it ir we don't All I have ve said is thatwe could have done with Wigan dropping points making them easier to catch, apparently that makes me some sort of village idiot
The important results are own and teams below us, not above. Personally, I think it's going to be a reight scrap.
Re: **** it then lets not even bother..... seriously matey Wigan dropping points is Bradford gaining points aka our main rivals for 6th spot. So yeah, I'd say it does.
Re: **** it then lets not even bother..... seriously matey Is that the Red Wine "Village Idiot" award that you have kept on top of your computer this last year or two? May I say that you come across to me as the relative I try not to visit?
is there some kinda 'Enigma' machine that has the capability of making sense of you encrypted postings ?
Re: **** it then lets not even bother..... seriously matey the target is to win the next game. there won't be a person in barnsley football club with any aims or targets of automatic promotion. no one. i know that, because that's what everyone has said, every time they've been asked. we're 10 points away from 2nd spot, with 9 to play. it's a million miles away. meanwhile, we've got 7 teams beneath us, within 6 points. that's the priority, every day of the week. obviously it's mathematically possible, but it's also massively unlikely and you seem to be the only person on the planet who thinks it's something we should be shooting for.
if thats what your little brain wants you to believe in however due to the Doctors orders I have been unable to imbibe for several plus months.
We should keep taking each game at a time and trying to win them all, just as we have been doing. Six points over Easter would be nice and then we can re-assess but realistically Wigan will be difficult to catch. If we can't get second then I'd prefer them to finish there as I think we can beat Walsall, Gillingham and Millwall, whereas Wigan would be a tougher nut to crack in the play-offs. We have some tough games left though, particularly away with both the top two to go to, a local derby and dirty Port Vale. Home wins will be vital to ensure we hit the play-offs at least.
Re: **** it then lets not even bother..... seriously matey We either go for it or we don't? Of course we'll be going for it. Do you think they are going to say "we might as well lose this one as we can't make 2nd"? They will be trying to win every remaining game. It's just unlikely that they'll be able to bridge the 10 point gap between us and those two teams.
