Yep....the Devonshire Cat is probably my favourite pub anywhere. Although starting to be run close by The Grove in Huddersfield

Love a Saturday afternoon in York. Have you tried the York Tap yet? Not been to York since it opened.
Last time I went to York was to see Bill Bailey at the Barbican and dropped on a cracking little boozer just inside the city walls opposite the theatre, called The Phoenix.

Wouldn't mind going round York actually. I will get some recommendations from you if I do.

Went on the Trans-Pennine real ale trail last week and apart from a few bell ends out and about it's a good day out.

Yeah, basically same as the Sheffield Tap. The guys who run the York/Sheffield/Euston Taps have got another place in York which was their first pub, called Pivni (used to be called Pivo). Its a really small quirky place and has a huge selection of ale and largers.

The Pheonix is ace. They have loads of good blues and jazz bands on too

Yeah give us a shout. So many good places to go and to be fair very few bad ones. Plus if you know where to go its easy to avoid all the stag dos or race crowds. My dad loves coming up cos he's trying to tick them all off, which is good cos it always makes me go to different ones too
