Re: agree ST Thats nonsense. If all our Season Ticket holders by 1 ticket each there won't be enough for anybody else. People that go regularly but choose not to have a ST. I wish we would stop with all this glory hunter, teletext fan ********. I enjoyed seeing the away end full on Saturday it was a pleasure to be a barnsley fan and I don't get why everyone slags them off for going. It doesnt make any ******* sense. 5 weeks ago the club was crumbling around us and now we seem to be getting somewhere and to take 4k fans 3 hours down the M1 was unthinkable a short time ago. I for one, want more a more people coming to Oakwell again and I welcome them with open arms rather than with a big '**** off stick' or a you are not welcome. Anyways, I don't have a season ticket but have spent a reasonable wad of cash this year home and away and if someone upgrades a ticket from a juvenile one to an adult one and that person goes in my place I'd be pissed off, and rightly so in my opinion. Lets be right the person you would give the upgraded ticket to would be a teletext fan wouldnt they, otherwise by your notion they would be a season ticket holder? *takes deep breath.
How do you distinguish between a kids ticket bought for a kid who actually attends, and one for someone who doesn't? I'm actually surprised that anyone would get a season ticket and have no intention of using it, but even if it happens surely you can't penalise the kids who actually have a ST and attend? If the club operates a like for like ticket allocation , there can't be any complaints, surely....I.e. 1 adult ST = 1 match ticket entitlement; 1 kids ST = 1 kids match ticket entitlement.
The club must collect the stubs and collate them since they gave us the figures for the season before last and also told us their had been an improvement this year. I have the numbers somewhere. I will try and find them. They were shocking two seasons ago, from memory, more than half weren't in use.
People do get carried away. Heaven forbid they might actually read what people are saying, before kicking off
It's simple:- 1 x ST = 1 x Man City ticket (no upgrades from Juvenile to Adult). My daughter attends all home games and odd away games with me...........she deserves a ticket as much as any other ST holder.
Re: agree ST There should be and the club could make an entire weekend of it if they wanted. Beam back on the pitch in front of the East Stand like with the Liverpool game. Get a fair to park up for the weekend in the Oakwell car park so before/after the game kids can go on some rides. Allow some decent local food places have stalls outside Oakwell in a food and drink festival style. Get some former players to come down and watch the match with the fans. Open up the legends area for pay bar, pre match meal etc. Try and get City to send some matchday programmes to us to sell for the beam back. Lots more they can do as well.
Good point......thats something I've always wondered when visiting stadia with -turnstyles........it doesn't differentiate.
There is probably an improvement because some parents dont need the extra leg room anymore because they have stopped attending.
How can they easily check if the ticket was used regularly? Of course they shouldn't be able to upgrade it to an adult ticket, particularly if it is 1 per season ticket holder.
Why all the fuss? It's simple really seasons tickets 1st then others. My son has a season ticket but doesn't go to midweek matches as we will get home too late on a school night!
