Re: I failed as well The wife knows....she had to take and pass this test last year. Spent ages going through the book testing her before she sat it. We used the book at Christmas for a little family quiz. We thought that many of the questions were pointless but I read somewhere that ones about womens right to divorce etc are actually used to get information across to women who might be in forced marriages, it's a way of informing people of their rights when they might otherwise not find out.
!5 out of 24 - that said its a bit like taking the driving test theory exam without ever having looked at the book. The other side of the coin is that many of the questions are totally irrelevant in the process of helping/assessing someone to adapt and fit in re British culture and way of life. Whoever came up with that set of questions is a complete a*se in my view.
Perfectly reasonable questions Although with just 13 on the slate it looks like I'm bound for HMS Getlost. Presumably there's a manual available with all the answers, and more, that you need to study first. Some of these could be useful information to a "new citizen". Those who really want to come and have a bash will do their homework and learn something useful in the process will study it carefully. Those who decide to toss it off will deserve their passage on HMS Getlost - in the next berth to me!
