I don't have any idea how we'll do. The majority of our players have spent their careers playing against players that are worse than they are.

That's probably not going to be the case this season (although we can't be sure). I wouldn't say it's the lack of experience, but more of a lack of a benchmark against which we can compare our players.

i don't think many of our players have found their level yet. A lot of them are better than league 1, but are they good enough for the championship? Only time will tell.

Winnall, Hourihane, Mawson, Bradshaw. All four wanted by Championship clubs. Hammill could have gone to one. White used to play in this division.

So you could look at it that way.

I said I would take them for the squad. The only player I said I would change in the team was Lawrence for Scowen.

You said that team was definitely worse on paper so explain.

You just admitted yourself the only player you would change in the starting lineup was Lawrence for Scowen

In which case how is it possible that the other 10 players aren't better in your opinion than the players from the last game of the season? If they would just be squad players.

I'm really unsure how better to explain it if you yourself would prefer 90.91% of the starting lineup suggested for today. Is that not basically the definition of better on paper. I'd proffer that it is better in reality too due to extraneous factors like team spirit and individual effort of the current players.

The debate was that the current team is objectively better than the one that was relegated, if you prefer 90.91% of the starting lineup to that of the team that was relegated that is true, yes?

What we have, I believe, is a spine of players who are Championship quality and who have been sought after by many clubs:
    Davies
    Mawson
    Roberts
    Hourihane
    Hammill
    Winnall
    Bradshaw

Whilst they are for the most part unproven at this level, the amount of Championship interest in them suggests that they are good enough.

We've then got a good range of squad players. A group which will still be strengthened, most of whom's ability is also still to be tested. But the key in my opinion is this 'core' and if we get the best out of them this season we will be fine
